Many years ago, Williamsburg VA had an amazing yankee candle outlet store. Sadly it’s been closed.

Pressed pennies most commonly have the classic “dotted” border, but I love when designs stray from the norm. I’ve included pictures of some of the different kinds of borders in my collection. I quite like the barbed wire one :) What unique borders do you have in your collection?

Just had a road trip out to Phoenix and took rt 66 (100 year anniversary) and almost filled our book in one trip +1 Ford hubcap emblem I found

Help! I am a huge Red Sox, LEGO, and Pressed Penny fan… I was browsing the pennycollector website and noticed a retired machine from the LEGO® Discovery Center Boston (Somerville MA). I cannot believe there was once a LEGO Red Sox pressed penny and I will never give up until I acquire it somehow.

If someone out there has one of these in decent condition (along with the others from this location if possible), I will happily trade or pay a solid premium for it.

I think my favorites are the dart frog, anteater, and capybara.

Stopped by the Buc-ee’s in north Alabama this morning, they have a great penny press and a penny tray for those who don’t have pennies. How about us that don’t have quarters?

Great movie and a great penny! Are we due for a remake of the movie?

Saw somewhere that 1/10th oz silver rounds are typically the size of a US penny. They are! And they work fantastic in penny elongation machines! Ran these 5 different media through the same machine to see how each one turns out. Silver is definitely my favorite, but I also love how you can make out the full details of the steelie, even after being stretched and pressed!

I pressed these years ago and I just cleaned them with some vinegar to make the artwork pop in the photo. The machine is still in service. If you didn’t know, there’s a 1988 movie named after this place. They even play it in the pizza shop, which also serves some pretty solid pie. Few will agree but I enjoy it more than Sally’s or Frank Pepe, neither have penny machines either!
