Recent fits from Seoul — Ivy/Trad × Outdoor layering for spring

Here are some recent outfits mixing trad basics with vintage outdoor pieces — my own take on what I'd call "heavy ivy."

-

L.L.Bean anorak, madras shirt, M-43 HBT pants, Columbia hiking sneakers, ball cap

Herringbone wool blazer & trousers (suit), Fair Isle vest, OCBD, regimental tie, derby shoes

Chambray shirt, M-43 HBT pants, penny loafers, canvas tote, ball cap

Green half-zip rugby, raw denim / navy shorts (one piece, two ways)

90s Columbia windbreaker, chinos, Columbia hiking sneakers, ball cap

90s The North Face mountain jacket, rugby tee, OCBD, chinos, penny loafers, ball cap

Anorak, madras shirt, chinos, NB 993, ball cap

Navy gold-button blazer, chambray shirt, M-43 HBT pants, penny loafers, canvas tote, ball cap

Spring in Seoul means 5°C mornings and 18°C afternoons, so most of these are about easy layering — throw an outdoor shell over trad basics and you're set.

Do you think designer fashion labels are tacky?

Lately I’ve noticed that seeing obvious designer branding gives me a bit of a cringe reaction. Maybe it’s just a shift in taste as I’ve gotten older, because I definitely went through my Burberry/Louis Vuitton phase, but now even things like clearly visible Hermès scarves makes me think people are *lower* class, even when they’re real. Don’t even get me started on how tacky I find brands like Gucci.

If you have to spend a lot of money to dress well, then you can’t dress well.

Uni fit!

my first post here!

If I had it my way I’d get a looser cardigan but alas my budget is miniscule.

let me know what you think!

Spring coat and shoes

Hey Prepsters,

What would be a preppy spring coat for me to get as a woman? What would be good preppy shoes to get also?

Thanks!
