Can they ban AI photos??

Can they ban AI photos??

Was looking for some summery dresses and just inundated with AI models today.

My final straw was seeing the left photo, thinking “oh a cute tie dye dress!”, scrolling over, and seeing this literal nighty with lace trim, probably bought at Goodwill for $5. Listed for $50, mind you ☠️ FFS

I wish there were a way to filter it out because I’m over it. If someone has AI models for their listings, I’m not buying from them just on principle alone 😅

PSA: please stop listing Kotn tote bags i am begging you

I’m a very small volume seller & buyer (my closet is just my own used clothes and some of my mom’s), and Kotn is one of my favourite brands, so I regularly search for their clothes.

Every time I search, I see DOZENS of wrinkled Kotn brand tote bags listed for usually $15. When you purchase something new from Kotn, in store or online, you get one of these bags free. With every purchase.

They’re perfectly fine but low quality canvas cotton totes, but please: THEY ARE FREE. No one wants to spend $30 (ie with shipping and taxes) on these tote bags and they are flooding the search results.

Ok thanks that’s it xoxox

Next Platform to Use

New to selling on Poshmark and have made a few sales! I have a few items on Marketplace but it can be a real pain as I live rurally. would like to branch out to a couple new platforms but not sure where to start. I have a few rare vintage things that I think might do well on EBay but am very intimidated with the shipping. Any suggestions, or tips would be so appreciated!!

Over priced much?? Sellers don't do this....

EDIT: The item in question is readily available, not rare or out of stock. Like any smart shopper, when I'm about to buy something new, I'll check out Post first because that's just the smart thing to do.

So today I am shoping for a particular - brand new the item sells for about $180 (give or take). I find one on Poshmark (cool!), but wait not cool at all. Seller is asking a whooping $495 (+ shipping of course.

Absolute madness!

What's a gal to do

I'm getting fed up with no sales and being undercut by automated drop shippers and low ballers. This deactivated listings thing is the last straw.

I sell a lot of cool stuff, but I barely make any sales now and that "promoted closet" cost me more than I made. I don't use AI on my listings and never will.

I'm sick of listing an item and getting an offensive lowball offer, it's an immediate block from me. Or they put it in their bundle, I make an offer (nobody ever offers first anymore) and then they unlike and remove from the bundle without a word or counter.

What's a good Canadian alternative?

I stopped selling on Etsy and eBay because of fees and whatnot. Craigslist is more hassle than it's worth. I don't have Facebook and don't intend to, so marketplace is out. I've tried Karrot, but I don't enjoy people knowing my location so never got off the ground with it. Depop seems like it's on its way out, or is more fashion geared. Vinted isn't in Canada anymore.

Sitting here seething, loathing having to relist hundreds of items.

Not getting shares?

I noticed since the update I completely stopped getting shares. I am still having sales here and there but no shares what so ever. Am I just not getting notified or is this happening to everyone else too?

Reporting earnings to government?

Hi, I’m in Ontario Canada and have been selling on Poshmark part time since January of this year. In total so far I’ve made around $1200 (after Poshmark deductions).
I’ve been on medical leave from my job since the end of last year due to chronic pain/de quervains and have been getting EI and am now on disability.
I just wanted to make sure I’ll still be eligible for all these things if I’m selling on Poshmark?
Does the government consider Poshmark a job?? Do I have to report my earnings from Poshmark? Or just report it on my taxes?
Thanks:)

It seems there is a huge number of profiles on Poshmark who have a loooot of items to sell, and often in very different sizes. Do people have that much clothes to get rid of, or Are they all actually purchasing clothes when they are on sale with the sole purpose of reselling it? I am aware some people do, but for me a big reason for shopping on poshmark is to shop more ethically, by re-using using clothes that would otherwise stay in a closet or go to the dumpster. If i am buying from people who are just buying to sell, it defeats the purpose.

Update: thank you to everyone who commented! I was a bit surprised that some people seem offended by my question. I am not telling anyone how they should or shouldn’t use the platform. I am just asking so I know what’s up and can make more informed choices. Cheers!

Poshmark asking for ID Verification?

I have been selling since 2016 and I don't recall them asking for an ID but they suddenly did. They are not letting me print out my shipping labels untill I do. But, I hear people say it's not safe to give them the info? What do you think?

Is Posh just completely dead for anyone else?

I’ve been selling on posh for years now, with a flood of shares or likes right after posting a new listing. I also had a consistent number of likes or shares each day. But I’ve noticed for the past week it’s totally dead. Not a single new notif in the news section except for those dumb posh parties. Just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this as well.

I don’t understand why Poshmark Canada has one flat shipping rate fee. Did any of you use vinted Canada back before it died in 2023? Because, vinted how to feature it instead of one basic flat rate shipping fee they had three shipping fee fees depend, depending on the size of your item. So if you were buying a T-shirt, shipping would be like $4, because a T-shirt is not really that heavy. But shoes would cost you around $10. I’m sure there’s a reason for the $12 flat rate shipping fee, but I’m sure you guys can relate when I say that I have passed up on so many items because $12 shipping+taxes is just too much. What brings me to write this rant, a seller sends me a 44% off offer. Fantastic amazing beautiful. But then with the taxes and shipping, I’m gonna be spending around $50. When the original item was like $25. Also surely Canada Post and Purolator don’t have the same charge for shipping fees. I normally use Purolator cause I don’t trust Canada Post.

Keyword advice for searches (buyer)

What keywords are sellers using for boldly patterned clothing in bright colours?

My ideal style can be summed up as "art teacher" and I'm in the market for some new pieces. I'm looking for pants, skirts, and blazers/jackets that have large-scale, slightly abstract prints in bold, strong, cool toned colours. I've used terms like abstract, geometric, pattern, weird, artsy, painterly, as well as searching for some brands that occasionally have that style... Not really coming up with what I want though.

Do you have any advice for how to search?

Is it worth liking things that are close to what I want but in the wrong size, or will that mess up my recommendation algorithm?

Odd?

Someone offered me a deal on poshmark and I asked them in a bundle if they would mind lowering it publicly to obtain the closet clearout shipping discount. They responded that my msg scared them and put the the listing not for sale as they re thought their offer and now think it was too low and wanted to rethink it and see what the going rate was. This was about 2hrs after their offer has been active. I just thanked them and told them not to worry about it then. Sometimes it seems like some sellers don't want to even sell their items. Has this happened to anyone before?

Hi all,

I'm a longtime buyer and seller on Poshmark and I always (just like most people) mention that my home is pet and smoke free. If anyone ever asks I'm open to letting them know if I have pets etc. As someone who has allergies I am absolutely perplexed by two things I have been experiencing with every second purchase recently:

- comes either covered in pet hair or there's quite a few that it was definitely not lint rolled(why are we sending dirty items?)

- sellers do not disclose if they have pets, I assume they do not and it is not on me a as the buyer to message everyone and ensure they clean their items properly, I assume everyone does this

- when I message (I don't dispute) the seller asking them as to what happened/whether it's a dog or a cat, I get very aggressive responses that essentially blame me for not asking

So then my question is, is this normal for people with pets to not clean their items pre sale while also not disclosing that they have pets? I'm not talking about a couple of hairs here and there, I'm talking a significant amount.

No matter how much I sell my items for I always make sure to wash them, lint roll them and double check for stains/holes I could have missed prior.

since they have made updates there are so many bad things happening including fraudulent cases. haven’t had any cases opened and then they come after the updates which are horrible. they always take the side of the buyers as even with videos you don’t win as a seller. how are ppl making money as sales are slow and it is so much work just to even get a sale . wtf is wrong with Poshmark and why are we giving 20% to them for doing nothing for sellers????? They don’t look at the info that is conflicting and they ignore messages and then take the buyers’ side without even appreciating the sellers side. Seen soooooo many rightfully frustrated sellers with no support to protect them! they don’t read the info and just take the side of buyers even if you have good reviews that doesn’t matter they are just not on the seller’s side in soooo many cases

Received a dress that was listed as Like New but the tags have been cut out and it’s got a lot of pet hair.

It was only $23 and I think id rather keep it than return but looking for advice - should I make a report or will that just end up in a return?

Inactive/Activate? Is this replacing reposhing? Is this resetting the 60 days?

I do like that I can check a box and do multiple at the same time (finally!). Just wasn't sure if it is essentially resetting the 60 days or if this is separate from that?

u/adnaPadnamA — 6 days ago

clarifying: I meant that the discounted shipping was until midnight*

With various work shifts and timezones, it would be great if Poshmark CCO ended at midnight the same day instead of that 6 hour window. At least to give a better shot of people actually getting to the notification in time. What do you think?
