Plein air finished at home

My plein air paintings tend to stray quite a long way from reality…

We’re currently developing an Analog backpack for pleinair, but we’re stuck on the front design. We’d love to get your honest opinion-which version do you think looks best?

pleinair 20/4, bluebells in the wood

This was such a joy to paint! It’s one of those where I could add final touches, but I like the feeling of it now :) been very lucky with the weather here in england recently! Oil on board, 6 x 8 inches.

Cannon Beach Haystack Rock - Gouache

Went out to Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast to check out the Tufted Puffins and attempt a plein air on the beach. I'm still very new to painting and even more so to plein air but this experience made me want to do more.

You can see the puffins in the 2nd photo. This colony has gone from 5,000 in the 80s to just a couple hundred now :(

This was my one today A5. The tide came in and the light changed. Learned not to be so precious about certain areas.

Gouache

Did these Plein air paintings at a river yesterday. First I thought turned out too fiddly and so I tried to loosen up with the second. Gouache is still new to me but I’m loving it!
