Exhibit Planner from paleo.gg
I created a PK Exhibit Planner tool to make it easier to figure out overlap of environment needs and minimum fence setup.
I plan to add a size estimator, but I have no idea how the exhibit size scales with number of creatures. If you know the formula or any important details relevant to the calculation, comment below. Thanks!
I love my lil mutagen monsters
Once the devs said they were gonna patch the game so animal coats/skins won’t do this anymore, I’ve been doing nothing but putting mutagens in every feeder and an abundance of space for breeding so I could collect as many of these flashy fellows as possible. I’m gonna be really sad when the time comes I open the game and they’re all back to normal, boring colors.
I've made some funky looking Edmontosauruses through breeding!
Devs, please add kids to the game.
I know kids aren't in the game because the potential breakout mechanic will endanger children and cause a higher ESRB rating, but maybe you can find a way around this problem? I'm not saying you need to be edgy and let kids get killed. Maybe have them disappear automatically during a breakout, or maybe a specialized area for children or something creative.
The thought of a prehistoric animal zoo without kids is weird. If a real prehistoric animal park existed, I'm willing to bet every person on this sub would go wild as a kid and beg our parents to take us.
If not now, maybe consider adding kids as a DLC or patched in later in the game.
Help
Do you know any creators that are covering this game? I’m not good at building so I’d like to take some inspiration by someone better
Thank you in advance!
Just bought the game, this is how the water looks. Help?
I tried doing some things with the water quality, shadow quality, antyaliasing and the reflection quality, but nothing really changes anything. Outside the settings I've tried using different water and just restarting the game, but that didn't work either. Any fixes?
PS. Funny thing happened when I tried the pond water. Shadows actually worked on it, but for some reason not around the edges, so it still looked like it was cut out.
Lately, I've noticed something different with the newer creature models of Prehistoric Kingdom. A lot of the newer models have this clean and polished feel to them compared to the natural, realistic, and grounded models or the pre-early access era of PK.
With the latest dev diary showcasing the new Allosaurus design, I thought about how interesting it is how different the new model looks in comparison to the old Allo remodel. I put the two designs side by side, and I realized that PK has shifted a bit to a cleaner and more well-kept style. Not all, but a lot of the early access era creatures don't have the realistic, grounded, and weathered look to them.
I first noticed this with the Ankylosaurus. When I first saw it, it felt like a very clean and pristine creature. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong about it, the model is absolutely beautiful, but when I look at the old model for the Anky, I feel it gives off a more natural, grungy, and rugged look, which, in my opinion, suits the vibe of Ankylosaurus.
And to mention a few more, the Stegosaurus, the Oviraptor, and the majority or the vivarium creatures also have this distinctive new look. I personally have no problem with the new models, but I prefer the grounded and rugged look of the old models, the little details of the scratches and creases add so MUCH to the model.
There are also a lot of newer models that are an exception, like the Muttaburrasaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, Triceratops, and many more.
There may be a lot of different reasons behind the scenes for these changes that we may never know, and I respect their decision if they stick to this style.
To clarify, this post is in no way a hate towards the 3D models for Prehistoric Kingdom. The 3D artists of the team have done an amazing job designing these creatures. This is simply an observation and a little bit of constructive feedback I have for the newer Prehistoric Kingdom models.
What's favourite out of the morrison formation dinosaurs in the game/coming to the game?
reddit.comClose Encounters Building(Workshop item)
This building is inspired by the building of the same name in JWE3. It is designed to allow your guests up close and personal interactions with the small members of your park. It includes 4 small bathrooms, one food and shopping kiosk, and tons of seating.
The gate is set to 4 meters tall by default but it is easy to select the pieces and move them to the height needed to keep out any unwanted creatures.
The Close Encounters building is also only built with Rustic and Basic pieces making it easy to remodel to your liking and easy to research in challenge mode.
