What caused the perfect holes in these mussel shells? Found on Ohio River on the IL side
Online research says the options are a shell eating worm; exposure to a constant drip of water; or a practice from the 1800s called “button punching”, wherein people used mussel shells to make pretty little abalone buttons for fashion.
Anyone got any better answers? I’m kinda hoping the button answer is correct, that’s kinda interesting. 😆
Alright who knows this cat from 90 day fiance? Is he really a local legend?
When you go somewhere and use a cart, take it to one of the cart corrals after you unload it. It's not that difficult. Stop being worthless, pathetic excuses for human beings.
Selling art at Lower Town Arts and Music Festival
Hi! If anyone is going to LTAMF today or tomorrow, I’m gonna be selling my art in Pinecone Gallery. I specialize in press on nail art, nature and fantasy art (lots of fairies, flowers and mermaids), and I have some pottery for sale 🌱
My quilt was excepted into the Paducah quilt show last year ( 2025 ) and I'm hoping some one took a picture, and could send it to me? I live out of state, so I didn't make it to the show, and I thought it would be really cool to have a picture of it at the show. I know it is a long shot since there were so many beautiful quilts there, but I thought I would ask just in case.
Hi! I recently got a job in Paducah, KY. Looking for recommendations on apartment complexes to live in and where to avoid. I’d prefer to keep rent below 1k but I understand if that is not possible. Thank you!
What's your cell phone provider coverage like?
My wife and I have lived in Paducah for about 5 years now. We have ATT for cell service and I feel like their coverage map online is BS due to how poor the coverage actually is. Comparing ATT's coverage map to our actual experience has got me questioning the legitimacy of any posted coverage map from other cell phone companies.
I'm curious what others in Paducah area are using for cell provider and how your coverage is. We're likely going to make a switch if there's a better provider out there.
Other pertinent information, we constantly use our hotspots for children's iPads.
Thanks in advance!
Just curious about this as I have seen some high school friends and other posts about the insane cost of electric in the area. I grew up in Paducah but moved shortly after high school and live in a large metro high cost of living area. How is it you all are having electric bills of $300+ for homes that are 1200sq ft? That seems absolutely insane. For context, I just paid my electric bill and we live in a 2500sq ft home and paid $115 for our most recent bill and that also includes our gas which operates our water heater, stove, and furnace.
These amounts seem ridiculous especially in an area where there isn’t an influx of high paying jobs and it’s not a high cost of living area.
Looks like he sued and lost last year— https://www.wkms.org/government-politics/2025-12-18/ky-supreme-court-sides-with-paducah-in-challenge-over-citys-firefighter-residency-requirement
Anyway-
Saw a post online on fb where he has seemingly posted what is already public information about administrative salaries. Anyone know why this disgruntled fired former admin employee himself is doing this.. seems targeted and unnecessary but the posts are funny.
Anyone know what the deal is? old man who is lookin for $$??
