“Guilt” Clarified
²The ego has a purpose, just as the Holy Spirit has. ³The ego’s purpose is fear. (ACIM, T-5.V.1:2-3)
There is no “guilt”. ³What is blessed gives rise to joy. (ACIM, T-5.V.2:1-12)
Chapter 1
>While Gilda slept she made Egon. Egon cared for her sleeping form, keeping Gilda safe from the ego-eat-ego world into which she had tumbled.
>When Gilda’s innocent form was harmed and violated, Egon was enraged. Bundling these dysfunctional thoughts into triggered memories to quickly 4F (fight, flee, fixit, or just fuxit with addiction). Egon is closely guarding Gilda and she is safe and separated from the ego-world.
>She learns that fear is her safe place.
Chapter 2
Guilt (484 results)
⁶Whenever you respond to your ego you will experience "guilt", and you will fear punishment. ⁷The ego is quite literally a fearful thought. (ACIM, T-5.V.3:6-7)
²The seeds of sickness and the shame of guilt, God does not destroy the alien that God created not. (ACIM, T-28.III.6:2)
>Gilda is forced into the world by hunger, weather, and loneliness. Egon is triggered, frightened by her independence. “They” of the world, all have agendas & disguises and she is very special. Egon erupts to sabotage everything and return Gilda to her safe place. Gilda cannot stop crying.
Chapter 3
⁹This gives it an illusion of integrity, and enables it to believe that it is pursuing one goal. ¹⁰Yet as long as you perceive the world as split, you are not healed. ¹¹For to be healed is to pursue one goal (ACIM, T-12.VII.7:9-11)
⁵This would obviously be a split or an attack on the integrity of your mind, pitting one level within it against another. (ACIM, T-12.I.2:5)
The third step is thus one of protection for your mind, allowing you to identify only with the center, where God placed the altar to Himself. (ACIM, T-6.V-C.7:1)
>While Gilda takes a bubble bath in stillness, Egon preps My Kitchen bar & grill. He steadies himself on the altar and sets the soup on.
>In stillness Egon is not afraid for Gilda. He sets out the Triscutts and cream cheese on a plate loaded with marmalade and horse radish. Gilda is ready.
>Egon panics and throws the marmalade at the wall to watch it slide down to the floor in globby drips and broken glass.
⁴Each is a gentle winning over from the appeal of guilt to the appeal of love. ⁵How can this fail to be accomplished, wherever it is undertaken? ⁶Guilt can raise no real barriers against it. (ACIM, T-19.IV-A.5:4-6)
Spiritual vision cannot see error, and merely looks for Atonement. ²All solutions the physical eye seeks dissolve. ³Spiritual vision looks within and ⁴Perfectly aware of the right defense, passes over all error to truth. ⁵Because of the strength of Spiritual vision, the mind is brought into its service. ⁶This re-establishes the power of the mind (ACIM, T-2.III.4:1-6)
Safely brought through the barriers of guilt, washed with forgiveness, and set shining and firmly rooted in the world of light. (ACIM, T-18.IX.13:1)
Chapter 4
⁴The Voice of the Holy Spirit is the Call to Atonement, or the restoration of the integrity of the mind. (ACIM, T-5.I.5:4)
>Gilda takes Egon aside. Palms framing his face, she assures him that 0ne Mind is their safe place here & now. And from the altar, they open the curtain to 0ne Mind. Everything as it should be, Gilda & Egon primping in mirrors, extending 0ne to all brothers.
⁵Therefore, in your forgiveness lies your salvation. (ACIM, W-62.1:5)
