Found a beautiful Io moth in the yard while I was weeding yesterday.

Too pretty not to share! Been enjoying all the monarch caterpillars & butterflies doing their thing in the yard, but it was a TRIP to see this lil lady as well. I’m new to gardening in NO - are these moths common?!

Caterpillar destroying vegetables!

Any idea who these little jerks are that keep eating my squash and bell peppers?

I find them extremely irritating and would prefer they not destroy the vegetables I’m so desperately trying to keep alive.

Free Peace Lily!

She’s in rough shape but still hanging on! My dog’s tails have been doing a number on her and she definitely needs a repot. I’m moving across the country in a few months and want to find a good place for her.

Saw a post here a couple months ago looking for chips for mulch, I lucked out on a cold call and found just a great guy!

Lyle with Gardner Tree Service is not only a great human, but also is more than happy to bring some chips to your house in lieu of them going to the dump! He'd rather it not go to waste just like us.

I told him I was gonna put mushroom spawn in mine and wouldn't take a dime but if I get mushrooms, he wouldn't say no! (Really hope I grow some, first ones I grow go to him)

Gardner Tree Service -

Lile - 504 287 6055

Arborist License: #2762

They're a smaller company, he has 5 guys working with him so be patient and be nice. He cuts on the south shore and North shore, just call him up and see which shore he's cutting on that week and if he needs a place to drop.

Good luck and happy mulching.

Guava

What's the tea on growing the different types of guava here? Strawberry? Pineapple? Anyone have experience getting a large harvest? I love the fruit and wanted to try my hand at it.

Does anyone have any pointers on where it's being sold or have cuttings for sale/trade/free?

Good morning everyone. I recently purchased some hibiscus plants from Harold’s nursery and planted them in the ground, hoping they would grow quite large and provide some cover.

I came across a lot of information online about hardy versus tropical plants, and I believe mine are tropical. Does anyone have any pictures of the size these plants can grow to over a few years when planted in the ground? online sources claim they can grow quite large, I haven’t ever seen any in the area that big before.
