Went with Grey to match the belt and straps of the OG set up but the grey turned out too light. Oh well still sick.
I've been in search of a lightweight cost effective alternative to VS17 Panels for signaling/ increasing visibility. I had no luck finding any budget friendly options so I made my own.
Made from a cheap hunting vest I had laying around and cotton fabric. A 12x12 high vis panel with 2 paracord attachment points made to store inside a attached pouch.
Added a chest rig h-harness to my hybrid placard
The dangler pouch is nothing fancy, no dividers inside, no binding. Messed up the molle strap dimensions a bit, but luckily still compatible with the rig. Planning to copy the coyote pouches and remake them in flecktarn.
The design is based on an Eagle Industries dump pouch which I wanted to try out.
I chose 1 mm PP. It’s a bit stiff for my liking, but that’s the thinnest my plastic dealer had.
Overall I’m really happy with how it turned out, especially for a first design. The most important part was seeing if it was possible with my machines and skill.
For the next gen I’ll change the height of the inner bag to better accommodate closing it with the shock cord, as well as changing the height where the cord is attached.
In addition, I’ll get the right eyelets for all the holes.
Hi,
Looking for some critique before i start cutting.
I am making a chest harness for thermal binoculars, knife and two small pouches. I will be using a H harness. This is the chest plate with laser cut molle and strengthening stitching vertically, with leather edging around the whole shape. Im not sure how to do the harness attachment yet. The blue holes will be cut the same as the laser molle. I thought about adding a loop and buckle through each. How would you do it?
The vest is based off what I like to call the ATOV-1 (Anti Terrorist Operation vest - 1) which saw lots of use during Ukraine’s anti terrorist operation in the donbas in 2014. The vest was used by both sides of the conflict. I still have to sew on the utility pouch, 2 grenade pouches, a radio pouch and a molle type system on the back panel.
Double stacked placard, a continuation of my hybrid placard. Cordura with laminate parts
This was way too much effort for an outdated piece of kit.
(No they're not the same, my friend sent me two, told me to modify one. Top is original, bottom is my handiwork)
13 hours of sewing by hand because I don't have a sewing machine, and buckles that probably cost more than the rig itself.
Any other suggestions for what I should do to it, other than scrap it and get something actually modern?
The only ones I can find online are either plastic or weirdly shaped and overly complex. These are the same ones used by the Army on the standard issue riggers belts around 2013, but I can't find them for sale anywhere online. Help would be greatly appreciated.
The daypack is going to be put into production. It is outfitted with the medkit/ifak and a 6x9 utility pouch.
Hello,
I recently got some night vision with a bump helmet and really want to take it out next time I go camping. The more I think about it, I don't want the bulk of the helmet, so I am trying a more DIY approach. My idea is a boonie hat with an attached Wilcox shroud.
I bought the hat, and printed the shroud ( interfaces with the G24 perfectly), but how would I best attach the shroud to the hat?
I was also planning on adding a counter weight and additions strapping to secure to my head but that seems the easier part.
Thank you in advance!
Sadly i dont have matching dpm fabric, so i used some spanish pixelado instead.
