Petition For a Tilton Avenue Sidewalk Extension For Traveling Students

Petition link: https://c.org/KfvXtsFRy4

There is a portion of Tilton Avenue in Morgan Hill, CA. that students of Central Hight School and Ann Sobrato High School walk and bike along this road twice a day to get to school. For the majority of the road, there are sidewalks where houses are, however its when the road reaches a small bridge where students are forced to walk on the two foot wide emergency lane with 25 to 35 MPH vehicles from cars to eight-wheeler trucks.

As a student who has walked to school along this road for almost four years, it is this portion of our walk that is the most dangerous and strays me from walking to school in general. There are around ten to fifteen or more of us always at risk of being hit by a vehicles and on multiple occasions that was almost the case.

Where do you go for Mother's Day flowers?

I usually just go to Safeway to grab a dozen roses. At least one of my siblings and my father always grab some flowers for her to so 1 sometimes 2 dozen is enough considering they'll each grab 1 or 2 as well. I never put too much thought in the flowers. Just make sure they look good.

The used to be $12 to $15 for a dozen. Now its $17 to $20. That's fine but I'm just wondering if there are better places. It doesn't have to be only roses. It could be a mix. The one time I asked one of the vendors on the road they were charging $35 for 18 so I passed. But that was just 1 vendor.

Does anyone go to a certain vendor? How much do they charge for what? Do you go to another store or flower shop? Maybe Trader Joe's? I kind of feel like most flower shops will be pretty tapped by now.

Help a brotha out.

Gym Suggestions?

Hey folks,

Family and I are moving to MH. Very excited and looking forward to being part of the community!

Looking for gym suggestions in the area (something open a little later past 10pm). I’m coming from SSJ and really like the machine variety and machine selection of American Barbell, so looking for something similar that isn’t much of a drive and local with a similar, no frills experience.

Thanks in advance!

Dog without leash

I often walk with my kids in the neighborhood. Time to time, there is a medium size dog without a leash outside of a house barking at us. The dog clearly belongs to the house. It looks maintained and has a collar. And I see the door opened to the backyard. Every time this happens, I turn back and use another way. I don’t want to kill the dog in case it runs towards my children. It’s not a super big deal to turn around, but it’s a bit annoying, and someone else can trigger it at some point.

Is it allowed by city rules to let a dog without a leash on the front yard? Am I overreacting?

Visited Morgan Hill this weekend and had some delicious carne asada tacos at Burritos, Tacos Y Mas, a nice breakfast at The Breakfast Club, and a beautiful wedding at MOHI Winery. Hit up to Trader Joe’s for some Dubai chocolates too.

You have a lovely city.
