From CO Springs to Moab, tripping the whole way ["For Science"]

26 y.o. MMA coach Dante Liberato ran supported 500 miles from Colorado Springs to Moab while microdosing psychedelics, to understand how it would impact human endurance.

Original article is paywalled. Seems like a puff piece to get funding for a documentary, as there is a prominent GoFundMe link if you're into that sort of thing.

Moab area public lands campfire restrictions?

Update: I got an email response from Kayli Guild, the Fire Prevention and Communications Coordinator for the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, and she said there are no current campfire restrictions in the public lands around Moab.

I'm a part of a small 4x4 group that is heading out to Moab next week for some off-roading and camping. We plan to do dispersed camping wherever we can find an allowed spot near whatever trail we'll be on that day. I am really struggling to find clear, consistent, up-to-date information on campfire requirements and restrictions. The state, county, BLM, park service, and other websites all have contradicting information whether there is or is not campfire restrictions, including cases where they have stage 1 or 2 fire bans "until rescinded" dates in 2024 and 2025, and I can't find anything rescinding it, but I'm also not sure if those hold indefinitely. Does anyone know definitely what fire restrictions there currently are, especially regarding campfires, and what we need to know about having campfires while off-roading around Moab. I saw there is a permanent fire ban in the city of Moab, but we won't be camping inside city limits. We're coming from Colorado so we regularly practice campfire safety (not that any are allowed around here anymore), but looking for Moab/Utah-specific information. Thanks!

DOG LOST AT “Sunset Pass” CAMPSITE

My friend’s dog, Gracie, is lost in Moab!

Last seen April 19 5:00pm at “Sunset Pass” Campsite in CANYONLANDS wearing an orange reflective vest.

Gracie is a brown and white Cocker Spaniel, very friendly.

Please pass along!

Somewhere with outdoor TVs that’s dog friendly?

We’re frequent visitors of Moab and have yet to find anywhere with outdoor TVs that allow dogs. We want to watch the draft tomorrow but don’t know where to go. We’d love a suggestion.

Visit Scenic Moab Utah

I made this in 2023, feeling helpless and needing to vent. I was going to make posters, or something...I don't know. I hadn't made any digital art in a while and needed practice anyway. Enjoy...or don't. I've only lived here 30 years so technically I'm not even a local yet.

Edit: You'll need to zoom in; it's poster sized.

Another edit: The title of this is "Moab 2050". It's a vision of the future, inspired by the present.

We are here in Moab for the next 5 days. We spent some time watching the rock climbers off of potash rd and it was awesome. Could we pay locals to take us climbing for a few hours? Would love any leads

HASU - So Can I Move To Moab, Willingly Work Only Part Time, and Also Get a Basically Free House?

Recently met a bunch of 20-30 something’s out of Moab who all proudly bragged how they “keep their hours down” and “only work under the table” to keep their income low to qualify for HASU.

They have the means to work full time and could make a decent living, but they wouldn’t qualify for all the free shit they get. They are VERY AWARE and even explained to an outsider how to you work part time hours and cheat the system to qualify for HASU.

So, can I just move to Moab and work minimum part time and get a free house too? I know I could just pay for myself, but I’d rather get a house for $30K

Marlboro Point Camping

I will be in Moab for a few days and am planning on camping one night at Marlboro Point. Wondering if anyone thinks I’ll have any issues finding a spot to dispersed camp? I’ll have a 4x4 Jeep and a tent no camper van.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations! Thanks

Trailer Camping in Moab, Utah

My wife and I are thinking of taking a trip with our camper and dogs for our anniversary. Looking for advice for beautiful locations! We don’t mind dry camping, however would prefer hook ups. Our biggest thing is secludedly, not only it being our anniversary, we also have the dogs! Especially if dry camping, we’ll be using our generator and would hate to bother other campers! All recommendations appreciated, thank you!

Last minute trip suggestions

Last minute business trip to SLC. I’m so excited that I’ll be able to arrive a couple days early!!

I’m just starting to plan my visit to Moab, and of course we have Google where I’m from, but it looks like most places are already booked. Since I’ll be solo I’d love some sort of camping experience, but I won’t be able to pack a tent or any gear other than my daypack.

Are there any lesser known “glamping” type places that might be available the 24th-26th? Or am I better off looking for a hotel?
