I made an Irish theory-test app with an AI instructor who roasts bad answers. Free Reddit slots

Full disclosure: I built L-Plate, so I'm not pretending this is some random discovery from the glovebox of a 2009 Focus.

Main site: https://l-plate.ie

The idea is simple: help learners get through the Irish theory test before they join the rest of us debating indicators, roundabouts, yellow boxes, and whether a Micra doing 42 on a national road is a cry for help.

What's in it:

- Irish theory-test practice questions

- timed 40-question mocks

- road sign practice

- weak-area tracking

- streaks and XP for people who need a small bit of shame to study

- Brendan, an AI instructor, explaining why wrong answers are wrong in plain English

I'm looking for honest Irish feedback. If Brendan is useful, deadly. If he's too much of a dose, say it and I'll tune him down before he starts shouting at traffic cones.

I set aside free Reddit Premium slots:

REDDITFOUNDER25 - lifetime Premium while slots last

REDDITMONTH100 - one month Premium if founder slots are gone

Do People in Ireland use AI Companions and does Loneliness, Social Support, and Generation have an impact on how, why and who uses them?

I still need help if anyone has 10 minutes to spare!

I need another 170 participants to reach my quota to make my research meaningful.

I am currently recruiting participants for a research project for my MSc in Applied Psychology. My research is titled Loneliness, Social Support, and Generational Differences in AI Companion Use in Ireland.

Whether you are interested in AI companions or have experience interacting with AI companions, this research (and me personally) would greatly benefit from your input!

If you would like to participate, you must;
✅Be over 18 and under 65 years of age and ordinarily resident in Ireland.
✅Be confident and willing to participate with the right to withdraw at any stage.
✅Consent to participate.
✅Not currently facing mental health difficulties or using AI companions for therapeutic purposes.

Please click the link below and feel free to share it with anyone you know who might be interested, any help would be much appreciated!

https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/BtcGKpqiye

If you would like to know more, please contact me on 10600603@mydbs.ie.

The last day to participate will be 30 June 2026.

“AI companions” are like digital friends or characters you can text or talk with whenever you want. Unlike regular AI assistants that mainly answer questions or do tasks, these companions are designed to have conversations that feel personal and meaningful.

For example, with AI companions, you can:
Chat about your day, interests, or anything on your mind, talk through feelings or get a different perspective when you're dealing with something tough, create or customize a digital companion with specific traits, interests, or personalities, role-play conversations with fictional characters from your favorite shows, games, or books.

Question about Libraries/Common Areas on campus

Hey all,

I have an offer at Maynooth University. At my previous uni, we had common places and libraries open 24 hours at most times during the semester.

Are there any similar spaces at Maynooth University, if so what are they?

Thanks!

How is making friends as a mature student?

Hey guys, I’m 30 years old and I moved back home this year after most of my twenties living abroad. Moving back home has been nice, but most of the people I would have hung around with when I was younger aren’t around anymore.

I’m starting in September, and as much as I love my partner and my family It would be great to meet some new people. I’ve never struggled making friends anywhere I’ve went, but something about being 30 in college is making me wonder if I will make friends?

I’d like to make an effort with societies, but I’m worried I’ll stand out, or be too old?
