Hey guys.. just put a deposit down on a black '18 SL.. I'm pretty excited.. The last Maxima I had was a navy blue '07 (SL too actually!)This one is black/black. It's by far the nicest car I will have ever had. Incredibly loaded. Massive sunroof, heated wheel, Bose, all that good stuff.
I don't plan on doing anything crazy to it, but let's say I had like $1,500 to work, what are some things you'd recommend I look into?
I read a couple of older posts with people saying the headlights weren't great? Any recommendations for upgrades? How about tint? Anyone have good pics of a black Max from this generation with 30% (or around there) on both front and back windows? Would be cool to see.
Also I'm assuming the factory Bose system is pretty damn solid, no? I understand that true audiophiles could find a problem with any sound system, but for the average music enjoyer, would these speakers be more than adequate? Curious if anyone has any complaints on the Bose..
Besides that, anything else you guys think looks good and wouldn't be crazy expensive i would love to hear about.
Can't wait to drive it off the lot. Thanks guys
Hi everyone,
2022 Maxima with 15k miles recently started making this weird beeping/squealing noise when the car is off. It does it every 30 seconds or so and even does it with the battery disconnected. No lights on dash, no warnings or errors, no codes when doing a scan, drives fine and I don't hear it at all when the car is running. I've found nothing on the internet anywhere about what this could be. Next stop is the dealer I guess but figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has any ideas.
Sorry for long video
Last post on this sub brought me down memory lane..so I had to post my baby😢Rip
Kind of just posting for support. I bought a 2009 Maxima S from the dealer’s auction for my niece for about $1,500~. 132k miles, super clean. Sunroof. Looked great I even drove it around the auction for about 3 days, just a few mins but still gave me confidence in it. I buy it and the day leaving the auction it overheats. Take it home and notice the lower radiator hose was disconnected. Dealers do damage all the time to get a car cheaper. I reconnected the hose and the engine goes from running smoothly to sputtering. I throw Bars head gasket fix thinking that was it, then refill the engine oil, added in seafoam treatment. Engine dies on me. Now it’ll start and run for seconds but cut off.
Checking to see if it’ll be worth it to put an engine in it, I’ve found one on eBay for $560 and found someone to put it in for $1,000. Which means I’ll be $3,000~ all in for a 17yr old car. Either that or sell for parts to recoup.
Any suggestions are welcome.
