Personalised planners based on your psychology

I have a degree in psychology and had an idea to advertise personalised planners based off of a survey you fill out that helps me gain insight to your psychology and what types of sections/layouts would be best suited to you.

What would you pay for something like this?

Obviously I want to be making a profit also, but printing these from what I can tell is not cheap unless I go black and white.

I will be advertising mainly on Ipswich fb pages and marketplace to sell these, so definitely local.

Are kids losing interest in music lessons quicker these days?

Hey — I’m based in Ipswich and moved here about a year ago, really enjoying it so far.
I’m a professional musician and have been teaching for 20+ years across schools, private lessons and different settings. Recently I’ve had a few local families reach out asking if I’d take their kids on again for music lessons.

A common theme I’ve noticed is that a lot of kids seem to lose interest pretty quickly if the learning style doesn’t suit them, even if they were keen at the start.

Just curious — is that something other parents here have experienced?

Also wondering how people feel about private music lessons in general at the moment.
I’ve opened up a few afternoon/evening spots locally, but just trying to get a sense of what people are seeing.

Thanks 🙏🏼

What would you do?

To the City of Ipswich i have a theoretical

If you have a hard working Son with a young family and they are feeling the pressure of the current economic climate and they are finding it currently hard to find another rental (Home owner chosing to sell) and they came to you to ask for a place to stay and take up a room in your home for a short period till they find somewhere

what would you do? Would you charge rent and how much? What conditions would you have?

Just outta pure curiosity considering the young families and stuff in this community and what people would be doing for family

Mothers of Ipswich - Mater Springfield or Ipswich Hospital?

Hi all,

I'm looking for reviews on the Springfield Mater Maternity and Ipswich Hospital Midwife Group Practice programs, birthing suites, maternity ward, and general anti/post-natal care.

Did anyone go to both? How did they stack up?

I'm hoping to do a water birth, so any experience there would be great.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences!

Which suburb gets the most unfair reputation?

Every area has good and bad parts but some places still carry reputations from years ago and people never move on from it. Personally I think Goodna cops it a bit unfairly these days. Most people I’ve met there are just normal families and honestly I’ve felt less comfortable in parts of Brisbane before. What suburb do you reckon gets the most unfair reputation?

Cyclists Aggression - Briggs Road Cycle Park

I took my 3 year old down to the Briggs Road Cycle Park this afternoon for the first time. We rode in the direction the concrete path feeds you onto the track, which was also the direction that other kids were riding / people were running. There are also arrows on the ground on the running path to indicate people should be running that way.

Halfway through the first lap, a kid (maybe 13/14) came riding down in the opposite direction. Both my son I and moved to the left to give him space, however he darted towards my son and screamed out “watch it cunt” whilst missing him by about 10cm. Kids are kids, and whilst that’s not on at all I was happy to let it slip.

About 15 mins (and many laps) later we had 2 more cyclists coming towards us. Again, my son and I moved to the left of the path, only to be met with a screaming woman “you’re going the wrong fucking way dickhead”.

Even if we were getting in the way, and purposefully going the wrong way, that is absolutely no way to speak to a child. A simple “hey guys you’re meant to go the other way” would have been enough. I genuinely cannot believe the aggression coming out of those people this afternoon, for something that posed absolutely no threat at all.

If you’re THAT passionate about the direction of traffic, bring it up with council, not families trying to have fun. I cannot imagine the sad little life these people have to get dressed up to ride in a circle and yell at kids on a Sunday afternoon.

Off topic but here's a bunch of Aussie sign up promotions if you need some extra cash

Delete if not allowed, but I wanted to share this because I know a lot of people are feeling the pinch right now financially. These are a few Aussie sign up offers I’ve personally used that gave me some quick extra cash, so hopefully it helps someone else too.

1️⃣ Wagepay – $45 profit

Wagepay is a pay advance app (no credit checks). The “profit” comes from the bonus minus the fee. Here's what you have to do to take advantage of this offer:

  1. Sign up with this url
  2. Take out an advance (I did $100 because that's the minimum)
  3. Repay it (there’s a $5 fee for a $100 withdrawal)
  4. Their $50 bonus comes through, leaving you $45 ahead

Money hit my account fast. I repaid it straight away and left it at that.

2️⃣ ING – $100

This is the best one, but you’ll usually wait a few days for the physical card. Here are the steps:

  1. Sign up via this url (promo runs until May 31)
  2. Deposit $1000 (you can move it back out later)
  3. Make 5 purchases (split a grocery shop into 5 tiny payments)
  4. Open a Savings Maximiser and deposit $1

Then ING drops $100 into your account once everything is done. Takes a few days for them to do it but worth the wait.

3️⃣ MyPayNow – $47.33 profit

This one is basically instant like Wagepay. Here are the steps:

  1. Sign up with this url
  2. Click “Get Pay Now” and choose the smallest $50 advance
  3. Repay it (there’s a $2.67 fee)
  4. You end up $47.33 ahead.

4️⃣ Ubank – $30

Similar to ING in what you have to do but the payout isn't as good. Still worth it if you want a bit of extra cash.

  1. Download Ubank and sign up
  2. Use invite code 1VV4A6X
  3. Deposit at least $10
  4. Make 5 purchases (I just did small transactions by splitting a $10 transaction into 5 at the self checkout)
  5. They drop $30 into your account after.

Total is $247.33 across the four. Took maybe 30 minutes of actual effort, just spread out.

New piano player. Anywhere in Ipswich I can practice piano?

Hello!
I’m 20 years old and I’ve just started my first piano lesson. It was a very emotional experience and I had the best teacher! As a little girl we couldn’t afford piano lessons so now as an adult I am trying to make my childhood dreams come true! I can’t afford lessons and both a new piano before payday next week but I really want to keep practising before my next lesson. Is there anywhere in Ipswich that has a public piano or a place I can practice on the piano or if anyone would be open to allowing me to borrow their piano for an hour or so? Thank you for your help! 🥰✨

How bad were the trains this morning?

I worked from home today, but need them the rest of the week.

Journey Planner is showing there are no express services at all? Were they still every 15mins as scheduled?

Tailor in Ipswich

Does anyone know if there is a Tailor/s in Ipswich anymore? There used to be Grants in Limestone Street near Ipswich and West Moreton Building Society many years ago, long since gone, but hoping someone might know of one despite my fruitless search. Thank in advance for any advice. 🙂
