I was in need to buy myself a watch for office wear. After some research, got to know about the brand hmt and it's model tareeq, and boy, the watch is more rare than a rolex nowadays. But hey! I live in BLR, went straight to the only hmt showroom in the country. Guess what, disappointed there too, no tareeq. But I saw something so beautiful, without any second thought I was like bhaiya ye wali pack kardo. Kohinoor is such a beauty, and with that sunburst blue... ohh ho ho ho... so pleasing to look at. And from that moment my friends I got my disease of watch collecting. I got 6 so far, its been around 6 months, still hmt ka bhoot to nahi utra hai, still looking for vintage models. The brand has done something so well that it's just make sense to keep buying their watches.

I got this pilot from a fellow collector last month. it came in the stainless steel case which if you know has sharper edges and can be a bit uncomfortable unless you file and smoothen the edges a bit. I changed the case to a old jubilee brass case I had laying around which has a gunmetal finish and will show discoloration but has super smooth edges.

the lume on watch dial both the hour dots and 12 at top is hand lumed and it has that unique imperfections that are really missing in the newday watches. I also have the pilot automatic with the miyota 9000series movement . even though the automatic is a huge leap forward in terms of performance, build quality and finishing and lume that actually works, the old hand lumed handmade pilot has a vintage charm that is really nice to look at and think about the manual work that went into making such a watch.
