Three people just walked out in front of me because of the price hikes

I was just in my local high street Greggs to get a breakfast bap and coffee. Normally the queue is out the door but today was unusually quiet. There were about 8 people in front of me and when one guy got to the front of the queue he asked for a bacon bap and drink. Then he noticed the screen above. He said ‘what’s that? £3.25 now? When did that go up?”

He was a bit of an arse and I felt sorry for the woman. She said the other day. He said ‘robbing bastards’ and walked out saying he was off to Wetherspoons.

Then the rest of the queue started chatting and huffing when they noticed the price increase. One said I’m off to spoons as well, and left. Another said it’s £2.99 in Maccys for the same thing and they walked out. The third just walked out. Spoons is £3.49 by us but for that you get egg as well in their bacon or sausage baps, and unlimited hot drinks all day.

I make no judgement (except for the arsehole who was giving the poor staff a hard time) but at £3.25 there are definitely better options now, and at least by me the public voted with their wallet.

Sadly I couldn’t shoot up whilst munching my stake bake because of the UV lighting in the Greggs toilet.

'The Big Deal' now £5.25!

Popped into Greggs today hoping to get a £5 'Big Deal', only to find it has been sneakily hiked by 25p.

I know times are tough, however Greggs are now just stifling their sales by increasing their products what now seems to be every Quarter.

This round of price rises has been rather sneaky as there has been no public announcement that prices were going up again. So it has likely come as a surprise to many.

If we are also seeking yet more prices to increase the offset of good stolen, then it is now time that Greggs seriously tackled this.

If we get another price rise this year, I will be largely avoiding Greggs going forward. The prices are now starting to become a bit silly on some items.

So how are we feeling about the new red pepper, feta and spinach bake?

I think it's bloody lovely. Could use a bit more feta though.

A meal deal will now be £4.25, up from £4.

Same with the meal deal with a side, up to £5.25 from £5.

Load of other increases of around 10p across other products.

One decrease though is the 4 for 3 Sausage Roll deal, which is going back down to £3.95.

I love the chilli sauce/jam and was wondering if Greggs would sell me a bottle or if any employees/customers know of a good alternative in supermarkets? thanks

Coffee and sausage roll deal

So Greggs have stopped their coffee and sausage roll deal for £3.15

Just been in no advertising of the change and been charged for individual items. When I questioned has the deal stopped the till member which is a trainee said yes.

I enjoy a coffee and sausage roll but only went cos of the deal time to give it up and help my waistline lol
