UPDATE! Thank you, everyone. We solved the issue. We opened it up to look at the pellet auger more closely and make sure it was not jammed. Turns out a wire came loose from the motherboard. Apparently, that was what regulated the heat. Put it all together again, and it worked like a charm!
Hi everyone,
We recently bought a new Trek Prime 2.0 pellet smoker and are completely new to pellet smokers. Unfortunately, we’ve been having a really frustrating issue and are hoping someone might have some insight.
After priming it, the grill has never gotten past about 150°F, and then the temperature starts to drop. Each time we try again, it seems to get worse instead of better.
Here’s what we’ve already checked/tried:
- Cleaned everything out and confirmed we’re using the correct pellets
- Verified the fan and auger are both working
- Made sure the grease shield isn’t too close to the temperature gauge
- Confirmed the heat shield is positioned correctly
- Updated the app
At this point, we’re feeling pretty discouraged and not sure what else to try. If anyone has experienced something similar or has suggestions, we would really appreciate the help.
