Well my birthday is coming up and I don’t really have anyone to spend it with. Friends have moved and haven’t really made any new ones here. I was wondering if anyone would want to get to know each other and hopefully build a friendship that lasts long enough for my birthday! I’d love to maybe go out to eat and possibly have a Star Wars marathon. Thanks

VA has a special election today and all Mason students (who are US citizens) can vote in it. Not registered? Polling places do same-day registration. Just make sure to bring a valid ID (like a Mason ID)!

I'm an incoming freshman for the fall, and I'm planning on staying on campus. My parents are worried my dog (Shiz tzu poodle mix) will get depressed when I go off to college. I live nearby, but was wondering if my parents can bring her if they just visit for a bit? Not like sleeping over or anything, but just around campus and stuff.

Graduating from NVCC in the summer and can't choose classes until June or July. Do I have ANY chance at getting halfway decent classes that late?

Does anyone have extra grad tickets for the CHSS graduation on May 16th? I have family coming from out of the country and want them to be able to attend the graduation too.

I am in the unique position of being unavailable both days of mandatory in-person orientation. I emailed the orientation office and they told me: "We recommend signing up for a regular Orientation day and contacting your Honors College advisor personally to get more information regarding the information needed for you to be successful." But I'm unsure where to find the "regular" Orientation link is though, seems to me there's only one link on the website.

Has anyone else dealt with this type of issue and if so what was your solution?

I was wondering if anyone had ANY recommendations for an easy literature credit/ teacher that was super understanding and easy going that would be teaching during the fall 2026 semester, anything helps

Maybe it confirmed everything you thought, maybe it sent you in a totally different direction, or maybe a professor said something that just rewired how you think about your field. What's the class at GMU that had the biggest impact on where you're headed and would you recommend it to other students?

I feel like GMU gets the "commuter school" label thrown around a lot and people treat it like that's a bad thing. For those of you who commute or have commuted, what's it actually like? Do you still feel connected to campus? Have you found your people? What's something about the commuter experience here that people who live on campus don't understand?

Just finding out that GMU doesn't come through and clean the dorms/townhouses during the summers, they just rely on the residents to do a good enough job they can visually say "it's clean".
