Here’s my fluffy pittie Bruno!

We came together this past weekend and decided to keep miss Grace. We have officially renamed her to Aughra and are so excited!! She got her first haircut today and she looks DARLING!!!

ETA: she is officially down two pounds!! Started at 66 and is now 64!

Here to share Suzie, with her Embark DNA results tucked in at the end! The last three pink slides are what is listed in her “Super mutt variety”.

If anyone is interested, I created an Instagram account for her shortly after adopting her, when people from another group complained and didn’t want to see her anymore 😂 I don’t post often on the account, but you’re welcome to follow!

This is Grace! She was an owner surrender and she is only 4 years old. Her parents adopted her as a puppy (I got to see her puppy shelter pics) and they grew too old to care for her. It’s sad, but also probably the best thing for her. She was about 66 pounds when I got her and she has gone down a pound in the past week!

She is nothing but love and sunshine and it has been a blast to watch her get her energy back❤️❤️ My JRT is cool with her and my (what I found out to be) other “fluffy pit” is also cool with her. The JRT will happily play tug of war with her and I know she’s thrilled by that. She is so sweet with my cat and just really wishes she would also play with her! It’s ridiculous! I’m obsessed.

We have one more week to fully decide and it’ll just come down to my partner and I coming together and really making a plan. Anyways, the last pic is who she will be named after if we decide to keep her (Aughra).

I was also wanting to get her body shaved and her face trimmed up for the summer as her weight already makes the heat almost unbearable for her. Do you think it’ll grow back? I’ve seen some horror stories. I almost don’t care if it does if it atleast gets her some comfort.

My little fluffy nightmares name is Poppy! We have had her for a few years and were super interested to find out what breeds she had hiding in her.

Well...just a pitbull 😅. We were shocked and so is everyone else we come across. I contacted Embark thinking we got a defective test, but they sent me a long email going in depth about the science behind it.

I'll attach some photos of her embark profile and of her.

I just ask you to be kind to us. I posted this a year or so ago on my vet tech page, and I got absolutely shredded about her being horribly bred and backyard breeders. It was extremely upsetting since I am in the field and just wanted to show my cute girl and the cool science behind it all. She was a "feral" rescue from down south and it definitely shows some days, but we love her very much.

So me and my mom are currently having a major argument (I don't know why it's blown up so much) over my dog's fur. Here are some photos and his DNA results. The supermutt breeds are Pekingese, Chihuahua, Poodle (Small). His Embark info is on the last two photos.

I think his fur is of a long fur pitbull. My mom thinks the fur on his legs, ears, and underside (circle in third photo) are from his Pomeranian and the rest is like a Chihuahua or maybe a long hair pitbull. I've been trying to understand the science of if certain body parts can have different fur style/texture from different breeds.

I don't know if anyone can really help in the argument but I guess I'm trying to get opinions on what seems more likely based on people who have long hair pitts.
