Any advice on where this is located? I want to take my kids photos this weekend, but I am new to the area from Arkansas and a little confused about where things are located.

An Austin PAC is texting Flower Mound residents on behalf of a town council candidate

Got an unsolicited text ad for Susan Cox (Town Council Place 5). After unsubscribing I identified the sender as Texas Families First PAC, an Austin-based organization with no connection to Flower Mound.

I pulled their TEC filings (Filer ID 00086998). The PAC is run by Elliott Griffin, an Austin consultant who routes all spending through his own firm, Griffin Communications LLC. Key donor is Monty Bennett, a Dallas mega-donor with over $2.5 million in Texas conservative PAC contributions, focused heavily on school board races.

Their candidate is Susan Cox. Her 30-day campaign finance report, filed late, shows zero contributions and a $5,000 personal loan to herself. No outside donors. Meanwhile an Austin PAC is running her text campaign. She is also the only Place 5 candidate who declined to sign the Code of Fair Campaign Practices, a basic honesty pledge all three were asked to sign. Verify both at flowermound.gov/1077.

If you want answers, the candidate forum is tomorrow night, April 15, 7 p.m., Flower Mound Town Hall. Streamed and recorded.

Early voting April 20-28. Election Day May 2.

Opportunity to participate in research focused on creating more inclusive environments for autistic people (looking for non-autistic adults, in-person study at The University of Texas at Dallas)

The University of Texas at Dallas Social Cognition and Interaction in Autism Lab is recruiting non-autistic adults (18 years or older) to participate in a study on emotional experiences and support. This study aims to better understand the emotional needs of autistic and non-autistic individuals. Your participation will contribute to research focused on creating more inclusive environments for autistic people and informing neurodiversity-affirming interventions!

During the study session, you will be filmed while recounting emotional experiences, complete several surveys, and answer questions with a researcher. As part of the research, video recordings may be shown to other study participants for research purposes only. All data, including video recordings, will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes.

Participation takes place in UTD Green Hall, lasts approximately one hour, and participants will receive a $10 prepaid Mastercard gift card as compensation. Sessions will be scheduled at times that work with your availability, and we will do our best to accommodate scheduling needs.

If you are interested in participating, please complete our eligibility screener here: https://redcap.utdallas.edu/surveys/?s=YW8TL7X3AWDDDKNX

For additional information or questions, please email sassonlab3@utdallas.edu!
