New fitness Update Rolled out

I had an update this morning and when I opened I was presented with this new update.

In fitness tab it shows more as well.

Before I updated I noticed my recap over the night mentioned my target step goal which was lower than my daily targeted goal. I asked if that is an adaptive number based on my recent steps and it said it can’t do that.

Then 15 minutes this update rolls out and now it provides a weekly updated target that aligns with your current trends and suggests a good number to target for the week.

Also the fitness tab shows options to start a workout.

Definitely rolling all this out in preparation for the Fitbit Air. With no screen on device they need options to start a workout from the app and here that is!

RHR trends

This is the second time that changes in my RHR on my Fitbit have cemented my decision to go to the doctors and have resulted in me being diagnosed with a blood clot on my lung.

I love that you can see the moment my heart rate starts steadily creeping up, when I got diagnosed when symptoms peaked, and when I start resting to try and keep my heart more settled, rather than thinking I was getting a bit unfit and just needed to plough through.

When I first went to the GP on 9th of April because I'd had a headache for 10 days, was having palpitations and instances of feeling dizzy. They told me it was stress and sent me on my way. On Friday 18th April, I was laid down, wondering why I felt a bit short of breath and looked at my fitbit to see my heart rate was sat between 105-110 bpm. Worried, I checked the week and noticed my RHR for that week was 82/83 ish when it's normally 68-70. I decided to go to Primary Care 24, thinking this couldn't just be stress, and after a few tests, I got diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism, and was told my heart was enlarged.

I know that an increase in RHR isn't always going to be because of something like this, but it was definitely useful information for me to have.

Anyway, I just thought people that like data and graphs might be interested.

Why is my HRV so low?

In the 5 years I've owned a Fitbit, it has always been low. It never went above 36ms, with my avarage being 21ms. All the other parameters are good and I've been active since I was a kid, so I don't understand how I can improve my HRV.

Charge 6 HR seems so exaggerated

Does anybody else find their HR during exercise is greatly inflated? It's regularly going into the vigorous level when I know my HR is not that high. My amazfit watch on the other wrist doesn't show anything close to those levels. I'm certain I'm wearing it correctly.

It's disappointing because it really inflates my daily cardio load making it look like I'm doing more than I am.

Returning to Fitbit after many years - is it a good idea? What's quality of life changes (for better or worse) have you noticed in recent years?

Per the title, I'm particularly interested in the soon to be released screen-free Fitbit wearable (pending particular details, e.g., subscription requirement). I used Fitbit many years ago and had a few of their devices (Flex, Charge HR, and Alta) before switching to an Apple Watch and most recently an Oura Ring.

After experiencing a number of issues with my Oura Ring, I want to get back to a wrist-based wearable but can't stand to have a screen on my wrist. That said, I feel a bit out of the loop with what features Fitbit offers, what it is and isn't good at, and what has changed since Google acquired Fitbit in 2021.

So I'm interested to hear:

  1. What device do you use and what do you love or hate about it?
  2. What has kept you with Fitbit as opposed to any of the other many brands - or alternatively, what has chased you away?
  3. How has the user experience changed since the Google takeover?
  4. If you stopped using Fitbit, what other products would you recommend?

And just to give you an idea of what I'm looking for (since different products work for different people), I'm interested in step tracking, activity tracking (especially swimming and weight training, though it doesn't have to be uber precise), sleep tracking + vibrating alarms, and long battery life (>=7 days). And I don't want to have to pay a monthly subscription (remember when we used to own the products we bought, including all their features?).

With these things in mind, do you think switching to a Fitbit is a good idea?

How to track my sleep automatically?

I’m very new to fitbit so apologies if this a stupid question but recently I bought a Charge 5 and I was wondering if there was any way to track my sleep duration/quality automatically or is it something I have to log manually?

Thank you

Normal?

I’ve always wondered what this graph meant. Understand what it does from description but not sure what it means. Ignore the poor sleeping times, used to work night shifts lol

AI-Coach

Has anyone managed to create a training plan with the AI coach? It keeps showing me that no training sessions are planned, even though I've agreed on one with the coach.

new features great for POTS

While I'm not the biggest fan of some of these LONG, AI written summaries, I am feeling more seen as someone with POTS now. My app now knows this about me and I hope long term can tailor a better experience to me.

Different rest heart rate on App and Watch?

Hi guys

Whenever I look at my daily rest heart rate on my watch it's almost always different then the one the app shows me for the day. For example today my watch says it's 70, my phone says its 72.

It is synced normally. Only happened after the new update. Was always the same before.

Is it like that for anyone else?

The new app fitbit show me pixel watch and luxe. I Wonder if now I can have these on the same account

My pixel watch could'nt be on the same account. So I have 2 phones and 2 google account to be able to use my fitbit luxe and my pixel watch. But with the new fitbit feature, I see two buttons? Pixel and luxe but they seem not to be in fonction. Maybe it's because my pixel is still on the oder account, and the oder phone? It was very difficult to bypass the impossibilite and if I bring back the pixel on the same phone I am worry that I have to restart all the installation and finaly nothing fonctionning. ( scuse my bad english, i'm french speaker)

Public Preview Food Tracking and Calorie Count

Hey,

is there any reason why food tracking works via _search_ only in the Public Preview? Will stuff like often tracked food, custom meals and the Barcode scanner be gone forever or will they be added later again?

Similarly, the Calories Burned gives the week average per default. Is there any way to change it, s.t. it shows the current Calories instead of the weekly average?

TIA, 7
