I’m a 21 year old college student in Ontario and I’m struggling right now. I don’t even know where else to ask for help.

About two years ago I applied to Mohawk College. Later I chose a different college instead. I called Mohawk to tell them I would not attend and asked for my registration fee back. They told me the fee was nonrefundable ( which I’m now aware of) but No one told me I still needed to sign a withdrawal form to fully leave the program. I wasn’t informed even after telling them I won’t be attending

Two years later I started getting emails saying I owed tuition. I was confused because I never attended a single class. I never used any services. I honestly thought calling them was enough to withdraw.

They kept sending warnings saying my account would go to collections if I didn’t pay. I got scared. I didn’t want my credit affected. So I started paying what I could even though I could not afford it.

Now I’m in a really hard situation.

I barely have money for food right now but I’m still paying this tuition debt while paying for my current tuition btw because I’m afraid of collections. I feel overwhelmed and stressed. I keep thinking there must be something I could have done differently if someone explained the process clearly back then.

I’m asking for advice:

-Has anyone dealt with a situation like this before

-Is there any way to dispute tuition from a program you never attended

-Can colleges reverse charges after this long

-If anyone is willing to help me financially right now, even a small amount would help me buy food and survive this situation. It would truly change my life during this hard moment and I would be deeply grateful. 🙏

I’m trying my best to fix this but I feel stuck right now.

Thank you for reading ❤️

serious trouble

I’m not really sure how to start this, I have a cat that I’ve had since maybe a year ago and he was a stray kitten that I ended up keeping although I struggle a lot with my own life, I usually pay for his everything before I pay for anything I need and he’s my world. Recently I found out he has internal parasites, I don’t have a vet because I can’t afford one (I’m also only 16, family is out the picture and so is a job atm) I could only afford one bottle of medicine because it’s too expensive since it’s like $40 a bottle but I needed two more since the medication is a month long requirement but I’ve found these nasty creatures in my babies fur and so far he’s had two baths within these two weeks, I’m an online artist but also a small artist and I guess what the community thinks of as beginner (I am casual with digital art and I’d like to feel as if I’m slightly talented with actual drawing) and it’s so difficult to get any requests it’s not like my prices are high because they’re 5-15$ since it’s intimidating to ask for more? I cant get a job because I have no papers or a way to get back and fourth and I live with my sibling far away from family but we don’t have any supportive family anyways. I need advice on how to get money or at least enough for this medication which is like 80 all together and I already spent 100 that I was saving when it started because it was really bad and I’ve been keeping my cat quarantined in the bathroom until I can finish treatment but he’s obviously not happy in the bathroom and I don’t want to keep him in there any longer than he’s already been in there, I really have no way of getting money aside making it I’ve tried to sell stuff I own but that’s not working either, this is very important to me and I just need advice, help or anything because this keeps weighing really heavy on my heart and mind, I’m also not in school at the moment because we move around so much due to our financial situation so I haven’t had the chance to be enrolled, I feel stuck and frustrated lately

Rent Assistance

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here but it’s much needed. My roommate lost his job a few months ago and is having a hard time finding a new job. We currently are in Iowa and the housing costs here are starting to become higher and higher. Due to that, we are running on only my income and needless to say it has been awful. We just got an eviction notice and unless our rent is paid by Monday (or Tuesday at the latest). We are in need of about $700 to cover everything. If you are interested in helping out, please comment or message me so I can give you my cashapp, PayPal, or Venmo! Thank you in advance and i appreciate anything help that may come through
