School reunion

I posted here earlier about cocktail attire for a

formal school reunion/schools 25th anniversary. The dress code is cocktail attire. It is from 7pm -10pm tomorrow.

The comments were wonderful and overwhelming. Everyone has been so helpful and I have taken everything into consideration. After hearing what other are wearing to the event I feel some of the options are out of place, however as I can not edit the images to remove the ones that do not work, I figured it would just be easier to make a new post.

Both looks are rough drafts and things like hair and makeup will be done properly day of. If anyone has final comments or input please speak now or forever hold your peace. Any comments are helpful.

Thank you so much for everything!

Cocktail attire - need help!

I need help selecting an outfit for an upcoming event, and have really been struggling to figure out what fits both my body and the dress code. It is a formal school reunion/schools 25th anniversary. The dress code is cocktail attire. It is from 7pm -10pm next week.

All dresses are below my knee. I will be adding assessories to glam it up more (open to suggestions for what/how!). I know they are wrinkled but please ignore, as I am able to fix that. As I work at the school I also want to make sure the outfit is professional enough, while still being young and fitting with what other in my grade will wear. I fear they may not understand cocktail attire and instead be to casual, hence the more casual options to try to have a range. Thank you in advance!

Cocktail dress for an outdoor summer wedding, knee length or midi

Dress code says cocktail, venue is a garden in late june, ceremony at 4pm. Cocktail to me means knee length and slightly structured but for an outdoor summer wedding that feels off when I picture everyone else in flowy midis.

Do I go actual cocktail length and risk looking overdressed for the setting, or interpret it loosely and wear a midi in a nicer fabric? The venue photos are all greenery and natural light so the vibe looks more relaxed than a hotel ballroom situation.

Not trying to overthink this but I also don't want to be the one person who got the dress code wrong.

Fashion Help Needed!

Hi! Can I get advice as to a better belt option for this dress? It is midi above the ankles and I am 5’4.5” and 110 lbs. (in case that is relevant). I don’t like these types of belts, they are unflattering on me, come undone all day long, and are just an annoyance to me. Would a gold or silver link belt or a wider belt look better?

Do you have any shoe style recommendations?

I haven’t worn dresses or dressy shoes in a veeery long time, and I want to get into the habit of dressing more femininely when I’m out and about. All I have in my closet are sneakers, crocs, and one set of black boots.

What styles of shoes would go well with this kind of dress (keeping in mind that I have very wide feet and a bit of a cankle situation going on)? Any suggestions of shoe styles, cankle advice, brands, and/or even colors would be super appreciated.

Desperate need of help finding graduation dress!

I had a specific type of dress that I wanted earlier but couldn’t find so I modified what I was looking for. Even with scaling back I am still struggling to find the dress and graduation is around the corner (I am open to express shipping). My new budge is about $200/$250 ish. I added some images of dresses I was drawn to in case anyone knows a more legit website to buy these from (and midi fishtail versions). If not, please help me find:

-a midi fishtail ivory dress!

(Mermaid/trumpet/or similar fit flare dresses are okay!)

(Off-white/cream/ or similar “yellow”-ish whites are okay! Honestly white itself is okay too if there is no other option)

- if it has some kind of embellishment! Especially beaded, sequin, rhinestones, or embroidery (maybe jacquard)

-Bonus: if it has a supported upper bust since mine is on the bigger side. I don’t mind the neckline too much, but I think regular strapless or backless won’t allow for a lot of support

BTW I am IN LOVE with the first and fifth ones, so if anyone could just find a fishtail midi version of that I will be content!

Thank you profusely!! If u help I will give many kisses!! 💕😩

Need style help for this lace dress. It was a surprise reunion gift and I don't want to mess it up.

  1. Shoes: Should I stick with classic nude heels to keep it elegant, or a structured heel?
  2. Jewelry & Hair: Since the fabric is already so "rich," should I go with minimal gold jewelry and a sleek updo?
  3. Bag: What kind of texture would match this? I don't want the bag to compete with the intricate lace pattern.

-------------------------

I’m sitting here, feeling a bit overwhelmed, and I just had to share.

When I was 10, my parents took me to a small coastal town in Georgia for the summer. I met a girl there, and for those two weeks, we were inseparable. We spent our days exploring lush gardens and getting into mischief.

We swapped home phone numbers, but, I lost hers on the flight back to the West Coast. I thought about her on and off for years, but I figured it was just a "vacation friendship" to her. If she really cared, why hadn’t she tried to call me?

Fast forward to last year, she was going through boxes and found that old scrap of paper with my number. And she decided to try it, and since my parents still live in that old house, they actually picked up! I was totally stunned when they told me.

Since then, we’ve been texting, but honestly, I was hesitant. We’re both adults now, and she’s married. Would we still have anything in common? Would we even be the same people? But this morning, a surprise arrived.

She wrote: "I saw this and thought of our days running through those gardens, getting dirty and having ice cream. I never stopped looking for the girl who lost my number."

I can’t even explain how much this gift means. It’s not just a dress, but a piece of our shared history. The lace is intricate, and the fabric feels so substantial. It’s like wearing a memory.

My main question is how to style it.

(Also, as a side note: How do I match a gift like this? But first, I really need to figure out how to wear it. )

I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Send help...

I'm currently recovering from being dangerously underweight and hiding my frame in the same clothes. Jeans were previously an absolute no-go so this is all entirely new to me (since I lived in skinny jeans in my teens, anyway!). Please send help...

Can I wear jeans and this cardigan?

What other tops would go?

What other jeans would be okay?

Essentially, please take pity and dress me.

Assume I am starting with an empty wardrobe and fear of anything that isn't leggings... 🥹

Is this dress flattering or does it need alterations?

Bought this dress recently second-hand and I quite like it, but I can't tell whether it needs alterations or if it's too old-fashioned and frumpy, or if it's fine and I'm just overthinking it. Also, how would you style this dress for different events? Thank you!
