Trouble recording with OBS. Disc and Steam w/R+R game versions.
I have been trying to record Far Cry 2 with OBS and there are a lot of buggy things happening.
Some examples;
I can record fine but when I go into menu OBS will only record video of the menu from there on while audio is fine.
The game will be smooth but the recording has stuttering.
I will get my camera settings just right in OBS but when FC2 loads (I have to start OBS first) then my camera will darken.
Those are the big three weird things.
So I'm checking if anyone has had similar issues. I've read some guides on optimization and did what I could. I don't want to record on the lowest setting and make potato pc looking vids. edit: I have for years played and recorded and uploaded Skyrim in full HD with max settings and never have any issues.
I am trying to do a parallel series showing the way I play on infamous using both the Steam version with Realism+Redux (plus my own minor tweaks to the code) and my original CD version from 2008. Yes.. showing the kids what it was like back in the day with bugs and instant respawn outposts and enemies who didn't rez in on time suddenly showing up on the side of a mountain with a shotgun to my guts. So much fun!
If there's a better way to record than OBS let me know. I just tried out the in game recording but I can't make long videos it only does the 30 seconds for the benchmark ans stops plus it replays fast not in real time.
My rig: HP Elitedesk 800 G6 SFF; Intel I5 10505; 64G Micron DDR3200; Zephyr AMD RX6500 LP (no clocking); Behringer UMC1820 audio interface.
What software do you use that makes smooth, hi-def vids? How do you optimize? Any software that might help on the backend/cpu?
