Not a SE but the paperback version of Rose in Chains is gorgeous

I don’t normally buy more than one edition of a book but the paperback cover of Rose in Chains is so pretty (art by Tasia MS).

The US edition of the paperback will also have sprayed edges I believe!

Fairyloot and other book boxes pay rates???

Just saw this on threads and am I the only one that thinks they're ripping the p*ss? Someone calculated it and that's a horrendous rate of pay for the responsibilities in the listing.

Illumicrate The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy

I am a subscriber and received The Irresistible Urge in my monthly box, I have not received the email with password for those who purchased the first book. Are there any chances this will sell out? I want to complete the set and I’m getting nervous.
Edit: misspell

A „NEW“ SE OF THIS KINGDOM WILL NOT KILL ME 👀❤️

TikTok just randomly showed me a video of a special edition of This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me.

I think it is the >!Moonlight!< edition

I just received the OC edition which is absolutely GORGEOUS!

I have to admit that I like the OC edition more, but will still get this one. I am very curious about the endpapers 😊 What do you think about this edition? Which one do you find more appealing?

Misleading Marketing of IC Percy Jackson Lighting Thief

I thought I saw a post about this, but I can’t seem to find it now. From what I was able to read before, the replies mostly said something about “even the first print had the same design” so technically “it’s not flawed”. The friend who has the set and sent me the close ups I’m sharing had mentioned to me she contacted IC about it so it caught my attention seeing someone else post about it. But other posts too made me look into it and when I checked myself, I don’t blame her for her and the other people for having the same conclusion. I would have… because in all honesty, if this is not a mistake, then there is an issue because it’s 100% misleading marketing by IC to hide it.

The gray marks are not subtle at all. It looks like paint scraps and really aren’t even uniformly spread all over the design to say that that it goes along evenly with it. I’m not surprised people flagged it. None of the other dust jackets have anything similar. (Also have to tell her there are multiple mistakes in the gold foil edges)

Which brings me to the point that when marketing the reprint of these, apparently IC made the extra effort to blur, edit, filter, hide these gray specks behind the rest and even go as far as to cut out the top part of LT from pictures. The pictures who kind of show it, you’d actually would have to look for it which shows a much lighter blended grey and you have to pull a Sherlock and zoom in on certain pictures to even notice it. And only if you’re actually LOOKING for it. Vs in hand when you have a clear picture of it and it appears immediately noticeable.

Whatever excuse of the pictures being just the art, go out the window with the edited versions posted of the actual books they shared in their page since it’s the second print. And if they had gotten complaints about it before, wouldn’t it be more transparent to make sure to have better images of it for clients to know what they are receiving?

You can click the pictures to see the whole image and where I got them from, I think Reddit crops out some edges in the post view.

New Fantasy/Sci-Fi Sub from Moonlight!

Moonlight is about to get all my sub money. I was planning on cancelling most my Broken Binding subs, so hoping this will be a better fit for me since I love their current romantasy sub designs and picks!

Metal Slinger: Moonlight vs Bookish Box

Received both in the mail today. Here is a comparison - what’s your favorite?

I’m honestly leaning towards ML. The endpapers are incredible in person. But the foiling on the reverse DJ for BB is amazing too. I think the edges for both are lacking.

YA & Adult future picks for 2026

So, I have the YA+Adult combo and I have two skips remaining til November. I know we cant all be Autumn but I was wondering if we had any guesses as to what the August, September, October and November books might be. I feel like I might skip June and July, but I’m terrified of spending my skips and being stuck with horrible picks.

(I live insanely far away so i’ll never get that money back selling the books)

Moving cross-country and purging my FL shelves… which of these are actually worth keeping?

Currently deep cleaning and downsizing before a cross-country move so I’m trying to be ruthless about what books I keep… These are all FL special editions I either haven’t had the chance to read yet or feel unsure about holding onto long-term

Would love honest opinions on which of these are genuinely worth reading/keeping/displaying vs. which ones are overhyped or skippable

Improvement with Fairyloot

We always have so many complaints and negative comments when it comes to Fairyloot so I wanted to pop on with something positive. I’ve really noticed a difference with shipments in the last two months. It looks like they finally listened and took all of our complaints to heart. My copy of the wolf prince shipped on the 8th and is already estimated to be delivered tomorrow! And I’m in Canada!! I just wish I was more keen on their selections this year, but overall such a great step in the right direction.

The June adult announcement is out today, and I noticed in the customizations it listed that it was an exclusive extended edition. Is this something fairyloot has done before? I’m intrigued but curious how it will be done? Is there just extra chapters not found in the store versions? Will these parts be included in the main story or at the end as bonus content?
