Just lost family member - seeking to restore picture

Hi,

We lost my aunt yesterday, trying to see if anyone is able to help restore this picture for my mum - thought it would be nice for her to have something to look back on.

Thanks in advance.

**update** Great work from the redditer community- now have a great restored picture. Thank you!

Upscaling old photo for a friend? 😬

SOLVED! Thank you to everyone and special shoutout to yappingpaper for their work!

I'm not sure if this qualifies for this sub, but I'm always super impressed and amazed at what people can pull off on here! I am willing to tip an appropriate amount for a good job.

My beautiful longest friend is mixed race, and had her first child this last year. He is a beautiful little boy, perfect in every way. My friend is half Indian, and so far he is very much looking like his father… dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, whiter complexion. Her own family isn't particularly present, so she has felt a little sad at times feeling like he didn't look like her. I can totally see it in expressions he makes though! As a mixed race brown person with a white passing Mom, I totally have heard that my mom had similar insecurities when I was a baby, so I really feel for her.

I wanted to frame a photo of him making that expression side-by-side with a photo of her doing the same to show her he does share traits with his beautiful mama. I know it would mean a lot to her. Only trouble is trying to find a good photo that shows this expression has been tricky. We are of the age where majority of our photos were on Facebook and uploaded at bad quality lol. This one is the best I could find, but the resolution isn't super high and for some reason she is very washed out- I assume higher than necessary exposure. The double frame I want is for 8 x 10" photos ... I'm afraid of what the scaled up quality would be. 😬

If someone was able to upscale the image in some way so it would print at like, more than 4 pixels per page lol I'm willing to pay! Thank you!!

Great Grandmother - restore colours only.

This photo was taken in Pakistan. It has been scanned in high quality, but I believe it was originally a colour photo and the colours have faded over time.

The people in the photo had light-skinned brown tones, so I’d really appreciate a colour restoration that keeps the result natural and realistic.

Ideally, I’d prefer the colours to be restored only manually without AI. However, if you think AI can improve the result without adding strange details, hallucinations, or making it look unnatural, please feel free to use it.

Please mention whether or not AI was used when you post the restored photo.

I'm hoping someone can restore this damaged photo of my mum.

The 30th anniversary of her passing is looming and I don't have many good photos of her so any help with this would be appreciated.

Looking to Comission

Hi, I have one old family photo, it's pretty clear and it's in color. It's just a little blurred and dirty, I have a 1200dpi image in a Google drive.

I would prefer not to post the image. I don't expect this to be a very difficult task, but I am still willing to pay for your work.

Please comment here or DM me if you want to take a look.

Stuck… literally.

Hi, this is QUITE a bit different than what I’m sure is normal to this sub, & please delete if not allowed but I’m SERIOUSLY lost & really, REALLY would appreciate ANY guidance whatsoever… I found this old picture of my parents that is in this godawful frame, and now that I’ve recently lost my mom and my dad.. well. He’s not doing well at all, and has already far exceeded expectations from his doctors somehow. But, that’s all beside the point which is when I went to put this old picture of them into a new frame, I realized the photo itself is 100% STUCK to the glass of the frame. If I pull too hard, the photo will obviously rip, but it’s not even stuck to the glass straight.. which is THE MOST frustrating part. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as removing the photo WITHOUT any or at least very little damage?

Thanks so much in advance!

Edit: I tried steaming it in by taking it in my tiny bathroom with me when I showered which I’m aware probably wasn’t my brightest moment, it just seemed like a good idea and it did nothing… 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Updated: Originally posted without picture posted, and I apologize for how AWFUL the included picture is, it’s impossible to get a good photo off thanks to the super cool glass that lives on top. 😣

Please restore this black and white photo and colorize it. Will be printed and framed. No AI please. I will pay $40 to the best one. The dress is red and the little girl is hispanic so her hair is curly and her skin tone is light brown. Also please fill in edges if possible.
