Edge keeps randomly signing out from google.com

I’m running into a very specific and frustrating issue with Microsoft Edge where I am constantly being signed out of my Google account.

The Issue: Every 1–5 hours, my google.com cookies are deleted. It seems completely random, it doesn't happen when I restart the browser or the PC. I cannot recreate the behaviour.

The Weird Part:

  • Only google.com is affected. All other sites stay logged in.
  • YouTube is fine. Even though it’s a Google service, my youtube.com cookies stay intact and I remain logged in there.
  • It is not triggered by closing the browser.

What I’ve already tried:

  • Checked "Privacy, search, and services" -> "Choose what to clear every time you close the browser" (Everything is toggled OFF).
  • Checked "Cookies and site permissions" -> "Manage and delete cookies and site data" (Google is NOT on the "Clear on exit" list).
  • Manually cleared all browsing data/history (all boxes checked) to try for a "fresh start."
  • Verified that "Allow sites to save and read cookie data" is ON.

My Setup:

  • Browser: Microsoft Edge (Latest version)
  • Extensions: Blank New Tab, Proton Pass, and Wappalyzer.
  • 3rd party cookies are disabled.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The problem with edge for me or maybe not

I use edge for daily use on my PC and my phone, but what I really don't like the most is keeping changing it's UI every update (I'm not mentioning of course how every element is not on it's right place) at least make UI changes every big update or something.

Any one agree with me?

I built an Edge extension that auto-converts prices on any website

I’ve been using Microsoft Edge for a while, and one thing that always annoyed me was dealing with prices in different currencies while browsing.

Whether it’s shopping, booking travel, or just comparing products internationally, I kept switching tabs to convert USD/EUR into my local currency.

So I built a small Edge extension that automatically:
• Detects prices on any website
• Converts them instantly into your selected currency
• Works in the background (no clicks needed)

It also works on dynamic websites like Amazon, Flipkart, Airbnb, and X, which was one of the trickier parts to handle.

I’m still improving it, so I’d really appreciate feedback from Edge users here:

  • Does something like this already exist that you prefer?
  • Any features you’d want in a tool like this?

If anyone wants to try it, I can share the link in the comments.

Would love to hear your thoughts 🙌

Use edge PDF viewer as a separate app

is there any way to use edge pdf viewer as a separate app on mac os? i have tried many pdf readers but the edge pdf reader is the best one so i want to use pdf viewer as a separate program instead of starting the whole browser which easily takes 800mb RAM without any tab open.

InPrivate mode crashes dev channel build

I'm running the dev channel of Edge (Version 149.0.3984.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit)) and when going into InPrivate mode, the browser is crashing. Same issue regardless of whether I'm using the keyboard shortcut or the menu item. Anyone else experiencing this and potentially have a fix? Or do I just wait for the devs to resolve before going gold?

Error 4usqa EDGE

Hello,

For the past two weeks, we have been encountering a 4usqa error for certain specific users when they launch Edge.

I’ve seen Reddit posts mentioning this error, but they relate to authentication with Office/Outlook. In this case, it’s Edge; we’ve never had this problem before, and the Microsoft Information Protection API has always been disabled on our ENTRA. How can we figure out why they’re having this problem? Do I need to enable this app on our ENTRA, or is there something else I can do since it’s Edge? Thank you for your time and your replies.

Configure the policy "RestoreOnStartup" on machine not joined to an AD domain

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to configure my template for future profiles I use on my personal laptop.
I managed to configure several settings, but some are not working because it requires to be joined to the Domain: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1060444/edge-restoreonstartup-policy-shows-status-error-ig

RestoreOnStartup1PlatformDeviceRecommendedError, Ignored

Value1

Error

This policy is blocked, its value will be ignored.

Do you have any tip to still bypass this behaviour? Is there any hidden or undocumented way to do it? I tried both from Registry and ADMX Policy File, both are leading to the same result.

A shame we can configure many settings, but not being able to restore tabs by default... (if any Edge engineer read this....)

Sidebar disappeared all of a sudden while having browser open

Installed the most recent update two nights ago.
I closed and reopened and both times made sure the "show sidebar button" was selected under the "settings."
no bar, no button.

I also restarted my computer.

Anyone have a solution? Thanks.

Can't login to some sites because Edge won't stop skipping redirect.

I have added all versions of the site URL I can think of to allow pop ups and redirects to advance through the login process.

I have even tested allowing redirects for all websites. Still I am getting sent by edge to some strange XML information page.

Is this a bug or am I missing a setting? It is a legitimate website and I logged in successfully using Firefox including using the Authenticator app.
