Looking for a few people in Dubuque area to help start a NORML chapter

Hey, I’m trying to get a local chapter going in the Dubuque area for NORML.

Right now I just need like 3 solid people to help get the ball rolling so we can actually submit an application for a chapter.

Nothing formal or intense at this stage—just trying to put together a small founding group.

What I’m looking for:

  • 1–3 people who are actually consistent (not just interested in theory)
  • Some help splitting basic roles like coordination / notes / outreach
  • People in or near Dubuque

What it’s about:

Basically just cannabis policy reform + education + local organizing. Keeping it legal and structured.

No experience needed. Honestly this is early-stage so it’s more about showing up and helping build something than having any special background.

If you’re interested, just comment or message me and I’ll explain what I’m putting together.

Getting from Dubuque anywhere near Warren, IL

**UPDATE: Due to a change of plans, I cannot arrive in Warren until Sunday**

Hello wonderful Iowans! My name is Michiel and I'm from the Netherlands (Holland). In the last two months I've been backpacking across your wonderful country! Unfortunately I'm not able to drive a car, which means I'm limited to public transportation and hitchhiking. On Sunday May 10, I will arrive in Dubuque from Madison. Does anyone know how I can get from your city to or anywhere near Warren, IL? I'm willing to pay for a ride. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, I highly appropriate any suggestion!

Moving to Dubuque and looking for groups to join

Hello, my name is Allen as the title suggests I'm moving to the great city of Dubuque and I'm looking for like-minded people and groups. I'm mainly looking for

Running groups

Bicycle groups (mountain biking or street)

A good yoga studio

Any parkour groups

Doggy play date groups

ADV motorcycle trails and rides

Or anything else like that

If there is not, anyone want to start any of these groups?

Gym Recommendation

Hey all!

I'm a complete newbie to the gym game, but want to get started on my fitness journey! I'm looking for your experiences with local gyms to find the right fit for me!

I live close to Volv, and have considered that (though I know it's one of the more pricey options). Also familiar with Planet Fitness, but nothing else outside of that.

I'd also appreciate somewhere that allows me to track time spent at the gym or days I've gone. My job reimburses $80 every 3 months for gym memberships if proof of attendance is provided! (A clock-in type system would be ideal).

What gyms are out there? Which ones have the best facilities? What's the culture like?

All help is appreciated!

I moved here almost a year ago and am still trying to meet new people. I’m a 24 year old female, looking for friends or in general where to meet people?? If I go out, I feel like it’s an older crowd or maybe am just not going to the right places. Appreciate it!

Anybody else remember Sears in the mall? I heard rumblings on sonic and red lobster taking that spot. Any updates since?

this might be a crazy reach but i lose nothing by going for it. i'll be graduating college in the next two weeks and am moving to dubuque post grad! in college, i joined our university women's club rugby team and just fell in love. my only disappointment so far with dubuque is that there's no rugby clubs for women anywhere nearby. i've heard rumors of some women in the area who have a history of rugby, but don't know any personally at the moment. really all i'm looking for is some other gals who might be interested in getting back to their rugby days or even women who've never played but would want to try it. i'd love to just get to keep playing for fun, and if there's enough interest maybe someday even helping to found a women's club for the area! regardless i love this sport and love playing with other women, new or experienced, and would love any input on who/where/how to make this possible

Hey ya'll, I need help, not judgements.

I made the tough decision to relinquish ownership of my son. His father is MIA, so this means I need to put him up for adoption. When I ask grok for resources, he just provides a crisis phone number. Google says I need a lawyer.

I don't know the first place to go, and the biggest reason I gotta get rid of my kid is because I don't have any money to provide him with a good life. After paying rent this month, I'm completely broke and I'll be on the streets as soon as the landlord decides it's the right thing to do.

So, reserve your judgement, I need help. I don't need money, I accept the position I'm in, but it doesnt mean he should suffer because of my bad decisions and I know he will have a better life with a more successful family.

Thanks for help and no judgement please I thought long and hard about this .

Sorry
