Artist keeps showing up on my homepage

Hi! I made the switch from Spotify to Deezer for several reasons and so far the switch is going well. However, I do find myself with quite an unexpected problem.

See, I love some of Peaches' older albums. But for the last week or so, her latest single is glued to my homepage, both on phone and desktop. This means whenever I open Deezer, I'm face to fave with this rather explicit and unsettling cover. It's especially daunting as I use Deezer at work as part of my job as a radio music director.

I begrudgingly asked Deezer to stop recommending this artist and also asked it to stop recommending this particular single, but nothing changes. Every single time, it's the #1 recommended album on my home page. Is there anything I can do?

What’s your favorite long-playing songs?

I’ve been thinking about it fr at least 5 min: Stranglehold by Ted Nugent is one of my favorites even if I’m not really a fan of the guy himself.

I take my music listening experience very serious. Way too seriously. After my subscription ended with Deezer and the app/website made it difficult to subscribe again I gave up, I moved to SoundCloud. I knew deezer's recommended songs were ass, yes the actual songs but really just the songs that their algorithm decided to push to me, it was terrible. I thought it was because I had a new account, so maybe their algorithm hasn't gotten accustomed to my taste. After almost half a year on there, nothing changed. I haven't found new songs in so long, and I hated it. I love finding new songs, I can't NOT find new songs to get obsessed with, I got antsy. Please remember I said I take music way too srsly. Anyways I moved to SoundCloud, and not even within 5 hours I already found a new song that I adore, which for me happens like once every 3 months.

Another thing is their app and website on the laptop. Idk if it was just me, but both things crashed at least 20 times in a week. Most was prob like around 30. So annoying to deal with, why can't listening to music be an easy experience? How long as this been around for it to still be this way?

Last thing, again I don't know if this was just a me thing so can someone tell me if they experienced this on the mobile app? When I was using Spotify, tidal, qobuz, YouTube music, and SoundCloud on their phone app, I had never had troubles with volume. Come in deezer, every other song is quiet and the one in-between was regular volume. And if a song was regular volume, if I paused my song it became quiet. Why. I don't know why I didn't leave sooner. Deezer is so undercooked when will it be fixed.

I have never once received an update to the UI and thought, "Wow, this is helpful!" It always gets worse.

I quit using Spotify because they killed their own UI with unnecessary spacing, additional menus, and I am disappointed that Deezer is going down the same road.

Anybody else dealing with this one?

Amongst this are many other issues-

The inability to remove a track from a playlist you're playing unless you navigate to the playlist.

The only way to view the artist page of a currently playing track being a tiny three dots in the far top right corner of the screen (mind you, this used to be in the bottom center, very accessible with one hand!)

Downloaded songs frequently fail to play or even show up without network connectivity.

Just frustrated. Give me reasons not to cancel and go back to cassette tapes.

Technical Support Experience

Curious what others’ experiences have been trying to get technical support from Deezer. I opened a ticket on April 15 and had a couple of back-and-forth messages where I shared additional details. On April 22 I was told my issue had been forwarded to the technical team.

I followed up again on April 30 and was asked some of the same questions I had already answered. After pointing that out, I was told on May 2 that my issue had been forwarded to the technical team again, more than a week after it supposedly was the first time. I’m still waiting on any response.

Honestly, this has me seriously considering switching back to Spotify, which I really don’t want to do because Deezer is better in a lot of ways. But the support experience has been pretty disappointing.

For anyone curious, I'm dealing with the same issue that another user detailed here.

Favorites not working at all (Web)

Hi everyone, long time user of Deezer, love the app.

Last 2 days I'm encountering a very weird issue where I can't add new songs to favorites playlist. Doesn't matter if I "heart" them or select and press add to favorites, they never show up in my favorites playlist.

Does anybody have this issue too or knows how to fix it? No VPN/Adblock on my browser. Win11.

Edit: app works just fine, the issue is only with web.

Issues with the Deezer web version and apps

Hi, is there a bug? Whenever I try to log in, I get the message “This site is unavailable,” and even when I go to the Deezer website, I get the same thing. Do you know what's going on?

When I go the cancel button is just stays on this screen without cancelling, this is so stupid because on the website it also wouldn't let me cancel it.. this should be illegal, Deezer should let me cancel my plan if I want to

This is NOT a thread looking for support, half-rant half wondering if this happened to other folks.

Tried subscribing to Deezer today, made an account and went to checkout.

Tried using Visa and Mastercard Debit Creditcards (The debit cards that let you use them online basically). None of them worked, either "Unable to process transaction" or "Issue with card details", despite all details being OK, and all the bank cards i tried have 3D Secure.

I can't even buy a gift card for myself, instead of using the free trial, since I thought the trial might be the issue.

Just wondering if this affected anyone else? I don't have a traditional credit card (non-debit)... and there's no physical gift cards in Canada... and per a friend that tried, you can't use those prepaid Visa gift credit cards either.

I haven't tried through PayPal checkout, but I didn't really want to use them, not a fan of PayPal.

Also support was useless, they just told me to try another payment method... like hello, I did?

I'm actually impressed that out of all the streaming sites, Deezer has the best organization for artists (esp those with same name), and the best selection (most amount of singles/albums etc for an artist, compared to other sites).

Thanks

Running into two issues, probably because don't use many voice tools, but I do when driving.

I have Android Auto and so, will say:

Problem 1:

"Hey Google, play X artist on Deezer"

And Deezer will play a song by that artist, but then the next one is similar artist. I don't want this. I want to hear only songs from X artist -- any of them.

How can I do this?

I don't want to say play Y album as I don't care what album the songs are from.

Problem 2:

"Hey Google, play my favorite songs on Deezer"

And it will say something like "ok, playing "something-something-favorite playlist" and someone's random (to me) playlist of songs they like will play. I don't want this, I want it to my favorite tagged songs in Deezer.

What's the magic words to ger Android Auto to tell Deezer to my favorite list in Deezer?

I have noticed that the content suggestions on the main page of Deezer hasn't changed much over the course of months. It's always the same groups of albums being shown to me:

Made in Sound City

2020s Hyperpop

2000s Top Albums

Emerging Alternative

2010s Alternative Albums

Same content is shown regardless of platform (Android app , PC app or web player). I wondered if everyone sees these same groups of albums, or if it's based on your listening and likes? I listen to lots of different genres of music but it's always these same groups on the main page, they never change. Anyone else?
