Ticket Cameras on the 90

So I just got a ticket mailed to me today. They apparently have speed zone cameras set up on the 90.

Not only did I have to buy new tires because of all the obnoxious potholes on the god damn 90 by the galleria, but now i have a ticket for supposedly going over the work zone speed (56).

Shouldn't make me this annoyed but it does.

Know the cameras are there and you will get a ticket in the mail. Time to make my commute even longer to not deal with this bullshit.

What’s a Buffalo story, memory, piece of lore, or local legend you think more people should know about?

Could be:

  • historic
  • hilarious
  • weird
  • underrated
  • deeply Buffalo

I want to hear the stories that make this city what it is! Thanks!!

Sahlen's Ham - Gotta be a better brand out there

Photo speaks for itself. If this wasn't pre-sliced and hiding behind white wrapping, I wouldn't have bought it. Anyone getting decent sliced ham that looks edible? Please let me know what brand and where you buy it.

Newly becoming a single man. Fit and mid-fifties. No clue how to meet anyone.

This seems nuts. Long affectionless marriage that I fought to save. I’m not a quitter but now that’s done. I just want to find a woman who needs to feel love again just like I do. But where do I find that today. I’ve been off the market for so long. I’m not bad looking I think. Educated and fit. Lots of interests but feel like a total rookie.

"You boys did good reigniting the brand for me for free. I'll take it from here." -Terry "Sports Don" Pegula

"Buffalo Sports Mafia Don, Terry Pegula, sends his regards, but he's got one tiny request that he needs for you to do. Capiche?"

'Sabrehood' has been commandeered by the Pegula Man after the sports team owner bought the trademark for it years ago and apparently just sat on it, as he let others do the work for him until he thought it was big enough to threaten Trademark IP Law action.

That goes to show that the formula is:

  1. Have money

  2. Buy Sports Team in Rust Belt

  3. Buy Up A Bunch of the Sports Team Naming Convention Trademark Rights

  4. Sit on it and let people do the work

  5. Boom! The Sports Town reinvigorated your brand, and you're good to start cashing in now.

From the article, it sounds like the people that did the Sabrehood thing are cool with changing their name, but, it just goes to show that when you're the only game in town and people are psyched for it, you don't even have to pay people to do extra marketing, you just need to make sure you've got the Trademark Rights for it and then wait for the sports spirit to do its thing.

On a side note, there should probably be some gratuity in IP Law that kind of opens up certain patents/trademarks to people to use after x amount of time if they're not doing anything with it, or if there's a controlled supply of that thing in that town (eg there can only be x amount of professional hockey teams in one city). Maybe some clause in there if they harm the brand or something, but IDK, I feel like when people are making sports fan groups and then getting excited about it, do you really want to be the strict no-fun billionaire that's clamping down on it? IP Law is fine and all, but there should be more grace there I think when it comes to fandoms.

City won’t fix the roads but will pay cops to guide 7Brew traffic?

Was trying to get in line to the 7Brew on Maple and to my surprise there’s two cops in bright yellow vests guiding traffic right at the entrance telling drivers that they have to go down the side road and turn back which is causing issues with the drivers trying to get in and out of the Wegmans

Any Gyms in Buffalo?

Im unemployed and really depressed. Everyone keeps telling me “go work out it help fight depression” and I guess I’ll give it a try. But I’m not paying double digits as someone unemployed.

If theres no free gyms out here, planet fitness is my cheapest option.

We should make AM&A's a Multi Level Breymillers

https://www.buffalorising.com/2026/05/breaking-down-the-amas-debacle/

My feeling is that we should be doing something with this historic building, and that it's incredibly important to our heritage and regional architectural portfolio. Maybe get a well known grocer like Breymillers and make a many stories large grocery store / third space. Also we need the city and the state to pay for it. Also this needs to be luxury lofts and market rate public housing at minimum.

Buffalo is better than Syracuse and Rochester. pRochester pisses me off Buffalo is a bigger and better Rochester and Rochester is boring.

Buffalo has the better suburbs, better downtown and better sports than both Rochester or syracuse. Walden galleria mall is better than destiny or greece ridge. Cheecktowaga is a better diversified version of Irondequoit And much more urban. Buffalo has the better restaurants and stores than either Rochester or syracuse. Syracuse has syracuse university and buffalo has university of buffalo. Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse are all rust belt but buffalo is more like Cleveland in terms of amenities.

Spanish speaking or hispanic owned car mechanic shops around the area?

Looking for Hispanic mechanics that are good and reliable in the area. I am new in the area and I’m used to either taking my car to Puerto Ricans or Mexicans when I lived in Central Florida. I’ve tried a few shops in the Buffalo area before and the quality of the work was not so great. Things were half assed done and I’m really not trying to sound stereotypical here or whatever the words some people may think when reading this but idk why the previous experiences I’ve had with Hispanic mechanics who barely know a lick of English have been able to fix my vehicles right. Even if I might not fully understand what they say lol. Some of the hardest working people I’ve seen and the quality when I get my vehicle back feels mint 👌
