There was footage of the Nutty Putty Cave Incident this entire time. I’m nauseous

EWU just released the footage of the attempted rescue of John Edward Jones from the Nutty Putty Cave back in 2009

I can’t post the link obviously but holy shit. I’m sick.

Of course, not considering places underwater. I was recently hiking and noticed those small forests suspended hundred of meters, with very closed vegetation, that even people climbing would avoid. At the same time, I find impressive how humans adapt and find a way.

What are examples of places there is no way humans have been to?

I've always been fascinated with this tragic event and how at a few points in my 20's I was probably one wrong move from being in a similar situation. I regularly watch EWU and this one just popped up in my feed. I had no idea there was any video footage. It's not spectacular, but it does give a brief glimpse of John's feet and the confined space. RIP John Jones.

Catedral de sal, Zipaquirá, Colombia

An underground cathedral in an old salt mine a few hours' drive from Bogotá. The Stations of the Cross are represented in carvings on the way down toward the cathedral
