4th sem is gonna complete, and I have done nothing in my btech + 5 backlogs. ssly depressed please help

I'm 4th sem student in tier 69 college in AIML and I have done nothing till now, my whole two years got wasted in depression and severe ADHD, idk what to do with my life, parents are unsupportive to take me to mental health professional.
my 2 years went by sleeping 14hrs a day and phone addiction to escape my misery, I'm so much in mess, my classmates are going on hackathons, winning competitions, organising events, updating LinkedIn and here I don't even have LinkedIn account, Ik it was my mistake but Idk what to do, where to start.
I really need help, my only aim is to give GATE so placements are not my goal for now, I just want to do good in AIML and get a research internship by next year in 6th sem in any of my college, also I will have to clear my 5 backlogs too
Myquals-
Is Taking Btech BIotechnology worth it in 2026??
i would like to pursue Btech in biotech or biomedical
dont rlly have much of interest in coding plus the AI boom seems unpredictable
expecting rank around 30k or 40k
or any other branch suggestions which involves more of hands on work and less coding(ik its inevitable in btech ) and physics.
TIA

Any good college for me, for btech CSE (core)
Ok so i scored 82 percent in class 12th and took a drop but last year was too tough on me so i quit JEE in between, i did give the exam and scored 60%ile in jan attempt and don't know what will happen in this april attempt result,
Now i wanted to do btech so any good colleges? I'm from agra and in agra there are literally not even tier 3 colleges , so thinking about going to noida or Jaipur or chandigarh even,
The budget is 15-20 lakh in total,
I have seen some colleges like

CONFUSED ABOUT LIFE.
CONFUSED ABOUT LIFE.
I don't know how many of you have ever faced a situation like this before or not.
Sooo,i completed my 12th boards in 2025 and scored 84.7 percent in it, 82 percentile in jee 1st attempt and 74 in the 2nd ( maine bass jee diya tha for the sake of kyuki sab dete hai) but my childhood dream was becoming a pilot so I went to get my class 2 medicals done and I got rejected ( due to some unnoticeable error in my eye ). Then my dad told me to join some random ass private colleges and get a btech degree or join the family business but I refused and took a drop year to prepare for jee or some pvt exams and I gave jee this year, met( manipal),gonna give other exams too but somewhere in my mind there still resides the thought of helping in the business grow it further and open multiple businesses too because I have big dreams and I know they will never get accomplished by doing a corporate job.( They can if I get a good package) But the chances are negligible.
Around 3-4 days ago he told me beta ( 2-3 lakh mahina agar koi job me milega usse bhot jyada toh business me kama loge)
I don't know man sometimes I think
Ki meri social life sacrifice ho jayegi if I join the business.
Mujhe bhi college jake fun Krna tha even I wanted to live that hostel Life . FOMO hota hai bhai whenever I see Instagram stories of my friends enjoying college.
My dad tells me" beta tumhe Jo sahi Lage wahi kro"
He is ready to send me to college
He is ready to get me into business
One more thing he also told me ki beta yeh corporate se accha koi bhi degree leke govt exam ki taiyari krlo agar hogya toh bhot accha nhi toh business toh hai hii..
If you are reading this then thankyou.
I am expecting positive suggestions.
😭❤️

Hello, I want some guidance from seniors
I've done JEE
1st attempt : 92.5%ile
2nd attempt: Maybe around 94-95%ile
I've done GUJCET : 91/200 (fahh)
Boards CBSE : 90%+ aa hi jayenge
I've done MHTCET, going to give VITEEE , SRMJEEE and Advance most probably
And I am very branch specific, like I mostly will not compromise branch over college and my interest brances are ECE, Mechanical or if nothing is possible Electrical.
I prefer colleges in Gujarat and maybe Maharashtra if there are good colleges in like Pune Mumbai
I got 75%ille in jee should i take a drop or take addmission in private university like chd uni, chd uni, chitkara or any other in ch as i am fro punjab???

From 3.5 LPA to 25 LPA. My Journey in a nutshell
From 3.5 LPA to 25 LPA. My Journey in a nutshell
This is the power of manifestation, obviously skills count.
I clearly remember the days when I used to borrow money during the month end. Coming from a small town, living in gurgaon was expensive and a 25k salary was only enough to pay bills, one extra plan and I used to be in debt.
Despite all of this, I used to be on top of the sky. You don’t expect an in campus placement when studying from a tier 2 college. It was an achievement because I was among 7 candidates to get placed from college.
At that time, it felt like a big step, but I also knew I wanted to grow faster. The journey from there to 25 LPA was not overnight—it took years of steady work, learning, and patience.
The first thing I did was focus on skills, not just tasks. I used to spend more time understanding DSA. Tbh, I studied DSA like a holy book.
I used to participate in competitions regularly. I spent time after office hours learning new tools, practicing coding challenges, and understanding system design. Small daily learning sessions made a big difference over time.
Second, I built projects outside work. These personal projects gave me confidence in interviews and helped me explain my skills better.
Third, do not stick to one company for very long if you want to earn money early. I switched my first company within a year and got placed at 8 Lpa. Got promoted with a 10% percent increment. Again switched with 110% hike.
Fourth, I learned to network and communicate. Talking to peers, mentors, and even helping juniors improved my soft skills, which are just as important as technical knowledge.
Finally, I prepared smartly for interviews—solving past problems, giving mock interviews, and analyzing my mistakes.
Today, I earn 25 LPA, but more than the money, the journey taught me that consistency matters more than speed. Anyone starting small can grow big if they keep learning and don’t give up.
Need advice: BTech from a Tier-3/private college vs BSc from DU + coding + IIT JAM, and whether a partial drop is worth it
Hi everyone, I need some genuine advice and would really appreciate respectful opinions.
I’m trying to decide between a few paths, and I’m confused about which one is more beneficial in the long run:
- BTech from a Tier-3 or private college.
- BSc from DU, maybe in Electronics, Maths, or Physics Honours, while also building coding skills and preparing for IIT JAM.
- Taking a partial drop during BSc in first year.
- Taking a partial drop during BTech, especially if someone has already tried once and failed.
My main concern is career value, stability, and future growth. I know every path has pros and cons, but I want to understand which option is generally considered better if someone is serious about skills and opportunities.
If anyone has experience or honest advice, please share. I’d be grateful for mature and practical suggestions.

Title: BTech CSE vs cabin crew — confused about my future
BTech CSE vs cabin crew — confused about my future
Hi everyone,
I’m currently pursuing BTech in Computer Science (semester 4), but my real interest has always been becoming a cabin crew/airhostess.
At the same time, I do want to have a proper educational qualification. I know cabin crew usually only requires +1/+2, but I still wanted to study further. The problem is, I didn’t know which course to choose, so I randomly ended up taking engineering.
Now I feel confused about everything.
One major concern I have is that cabin crew is not considered a long-term secure job. So I keep thinking — after I satisfy my dream and work in that field for a few years, will it be realistically possible to return to IT after a gap?
I’m also unsure how that gap would affect my chances in the IT field later.
Another thing is, I’m not really comfortable in typical office environments. The group culture and competition feel similar to college, and I’ve struggled with fitting into friend groups here. That experience has been quite draining for me, and it makes me worry about long-term work environments too.
Because of all this, I keep thinking about my life decisions. I don’t know whether I should just complete my BTech and keep it as a backup, or if I should consider dropping it.
I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who have faced similar situations or are working in IT or aviation.
Thanks.
