Bonnell Discord group

I set up a discord group for the Bonnell 775 AM along with the 775MX because IMO Discord has a better formula and layout for compiling shared information.

It's easier to find what you're looking for given topics can be separated into categories such as the motor (X1-Pro gen 4), wheels and tyres, Batteries etc and if you have spent any time there then you will know what I'm talking about.

Here is the link. https://discord.gg/9ubQf6se

I'm not overly ecstatic about owing the channel and being involved to the enth because I also like to be offline at times for extended periods, but I really think we need this type of platform to build and retain ideas using the superior tools that discord offers over both reddit and facetbook.

Lastly if this piques your interest, I also recommend another Discord channel (not mine) to be integrated into your channel list, which is the "High Voltage Electric Vehicles" Discord group here https://discord.gg/45yHxDA5T

They cover a whole range of electric bicycle topics including the CYC X1 Pro, but more importantly custom battery building etc which is something we can use to get heads around in order to start modding our own Bonnell's so feel free to join along with adding suggestions within the channel if you have ideas and suggestions to improve it such as categorisation of topic's along with anything else you would like to see.

That's it other than to say I actually created the group months ago, never got around to putting it out there and for the forementioned reasons thought it was still worth throwing out there as a better way to consolidate our knowledge.

775 MX: Measurements for custom battery?

I'm looking into getting a larger capacity custom battery from Amorge but I don't have the bike yet, so I can't provide the measurements they're asking for...

Has anyone done this yet? Or would anyone know what the measurements are for the inner frame?

Order status - "We're preparing these items for shipping."?

Does this mean they actually have it? Might sound a dumb question but I remember they had shortages and I'm noticing that what I ordered is "out of stock" now, so I'm hoping I'm not stuck waiting months... so can anyone chime in on whether this status *actually* means they have it, and are in the process of shipping?

Looking for thoughts on a strange 775MX build

I have had this itch to pull the trigger on a 775MX for the last year. Give me some slack while I lay out my reasoning for my strange build. Things about me:

  1. Former dirt biker

  2. Large guy over 250lbs

  3. Have a budget of about 7.5k all in

  4. Not interested in building from scratch

  5. Live in Appalachians with frequent multiple mile climbs with over 15% grade.

Why I can't just buy this bike as is and be satisfied:

  1. I want to be able to pedal as a class 3 authentically for exercise and range

  2. I don't expect to spend much time in the air or on my old dirt bike tracks in the next few years so 6000w is overkill for me.

Why I really want the Bonnell:

  1. Build quality. It was built for people to do crazy fun stuff and take a real beating. Me riding it at 50% will give me the confidence that it is not going to snap underneath me.

  2. Built around a powerful motor with a moderately customizable software setup. Should be a fairly future proof frame to evolve.

  3. Suspension travel is longer than most to allow me to run a fairly plush setup at my weight.

  4. In the future, I can just swap in the old drivetrain and have a blast.

Here is what I am thinking:

In a perfect world, I'd buy a eMTB with nominal motor output of 2000W and peak of 2500W (LXC 64 is too custom and will not age well IMO). Since nothing exists, I plan to convert this bike into that. I know there is more fun to be had, but I am too old and out of shape (right now) to be doing the super fun stuff. To accomplish this setup, I will swap the single speed to the drivetrain being used on bikes that have new M2S motor. Then I will limit all the power setting is the app to have 500w, 1500W, and 2500w modes. I know there is still a chance the drivetrain won't handle the power, but it is less likely to happen at 2500w then 6000w.

Questions I have:

  1. Is this possible? Does the rear triangle have the space for a large cassette? Am I forgetting a key detail?

  2. Am I setting myself up for failure?

  3. Am I missing a bike in the market that already exists that meets my requirements?

  4. Is there something I am missing in the motor specs that will make me have a real bad time running it at lower power and speeds?

Edit: I should mention, i.am tired of waiting for something else to come out that checks all my boxes.

2nd Edit: I am aware of the other drive train, but based on the other reviews it seems that it doesn't provide much range.

Selling mx 775 texas grey M

~100 miles (goes up as i continue to ride)

bought this is my first mountain bike found out I love mountain biking and now I just want a lighter bike and I enjoy working out so honestly, I don’t really like the throttle and I’m seeing that I’m not using the power to its full potential so I don’t really see that I should be having this bike over a different one, like it has 6000 watts of power and I’m only using like 1000

only trade for amflow pl carbon

Filling tires - user error or different bit?

I'm trying to fill up the tires on my recently arrived bonnell 775 MX and the stem is not fitting in the portable battery powered tire filler I have, nor is it fitting in the provided pump.

I'm not familiar with this design... It looks similar to the car tire stems but gets narrower towards the end and has a metal bit that can be unscrewed to remove the pressure.

I've tried using different bits I've had and I've tried looking at 3 different setup videos but none of them really made a deal out of filling the tires.

What am I doing wrong or missing here?
