Shake Shack or Five Guys?

Bethesda's hamburger options are limited. Which do you prefer? Shake Shack, or Five Guys?

I can imagine that if McDonald's had opened a branch in Bethesda, this topic wouldn't even be a thing. But still, 🤐

What are your thoughts?

Unconfirmed Possible Westfield Montgomery Future Retail-Line up?

I was following closely with Montgomery Mall's redevelopment, and came across a PDF that contained information regarding their proposed Retail-Line up. I'm not sure if this looks real or not, but I am trying to get some sort of confirmation from Mall Management.

Some that are on this document are confirmed to happen, such as Gorjana, and Zara.

I am shocked to see The North Face, Oakley, and Cotton-On on this roster.

Some of these stores on here look totally Unrealistic. For example, Aritzia is on this list, but it was announced in February the deal fell out.

If it's true, I'm happy for them. But it still won't stop me from going to Tyson's Corner 😅😅.

Best Bethesda/DC Blonde Highlights That Don’t Cost a Flight to Europe?

I am European, and I have to admit this has been a surprising experience. I’ve never had to spend months searching for a solid stylist before.

The biggest challenge seems to be that around here, high prices don’t always guarantee high quality. I’m happy to pay for excellent work, but I’d love to find someone where the result actually matches the price.

Looking for recommendations in Bethesda or DC for someone truly skilled with blonde highlights. Soft, blended, natural-looking color, beautiful toner, and a polished result, not stripey highlights or correction appointments later.

If you’ve had a genuinely great experience, I’d really appreciate recommendations. Thank you.

Crab cakes?

I did a quick search and didn’t find anything recent. Could y’all recommend some places for a good crabcake or crab in general? Coming in town for a meeting in June. Would love any other recommendations for local spots.

Bradley Blvd digging over newly repaved asphalt 🤷‍♂️

Bradley Blvd was very recently and beautifully repaved. Not it’s going to be ripped apart again. Is there any planning of these activities?

To the guy who helped me push my wife’s car off Wisconsin

Wife’s brand new Subaru that just stopped and wouldn’t accelerate right at a light this morning on Wisconsin Ave. I hopped out and started pushing while my wife steered. Random gentleman came and helped push to a side street.

Thank you, sir! Good to know there’s still good people around.

Moving with an a highschooler going to the 11th grade

Hello,

I'm a Black woman moving into the Bethesda area in mid August with a child going into the 11th grade. Have any of you experienced moving with a situation like this? How did your child adapt? Were they happy about the move once done with highschool? Sad? What did you do prior to moving to make it an easier transition? Did any of you eventually move back to your home state or town because of the move?

Looking for Roommate- NIH post bacc

I’m moving to the area in August to start a postbac research fellowship at the NIH Vaccine Research Center (NIAID). Looking for a roommate or a room in a shared house/apartment, ideally within a 10 minute bike ride of the Bethesda campus.

A bit about me: I’m 20 clean, respectful of shared spaces, and keep a pretty normal schedule.

Church suggestions

New to the area and looking for a Christian Church. I’ve previously been as Presbyterian and Anglican/non-demoninational churches, but I’m not super picky. My old church was also super casual, but I loved it! Thanks in advance
