Hi there! my wife just got her work visa authorization and it looks like we will be moving to Bern in July! We are super excited. My wife will work at the hospital, her background is in Epic software. I’m looking find a Job in Earthworks, I’ve been running heavy equipment for most of my life. as well as a commercial truck license. looking for any tips pointers and recommendations. it’s a big move, we are working on our German. Ich hab schon mehrere hundert Kilometer hinter mir, Stadt, Landstrasse, Autobahn, alles dabei. Bin meistens sicher unterwegs, arbeite aber noch an bestimmten Techniken die ich festigen will.

Wir fahren mit einem Mobility-Auto, falls das für dich okay ist. Ich organisiere alles, du musst nur dabei sein.

Du solltest eine ruhige und geduldige Person sein.

We are united and we are one. This isn't about progressive values or liberalism. I just came to say thank you to Bern for the anti hate and anti racism stance in the recent posts.

I am originally from Bern and I am dark skinned. One parent from emmental. So it feels heartwarming to see all this support from you about us who are different.

Oh and before I forget, a big fuck you to those people that stare at others wrongly or make a snide face when we walk past, dont think we dont see you. We may not look it but it hurts. It hurts especially when we were born and raised here. Fuck you and your ancestry.

does anyone know if you're allowed to climb the catbedral tower if you're a solo traveller?

I tried to find this info on official websites but I couldn't find any.

It's just that when I was in Basel they have a rule which forbids people from climbing the tower solo so I was wondering is that like a nation wide policy or just some local custom in Basel?

I will start working in Bern canton in Juny in agriculture by a family.

My loan after taxes will be 2100 CHF (600chf/month for a room in a shared flat included)

My question is can I get with this salary by as a 20 year old?

What is the expected cost for a month and is it realistic to be able to save 1000chf per month?

No lavish lifestyle, only spend money on food(home cookig), public transport 5 out of 7 days a week, maybe weekly a day trip to cities or go hiking and essential services like insurance, phone bill etc.
