I’ve only ever replaced one light fixture in my life so please bear with me and excuse my ignorance. I’m hoping somebody here can help me. I just removed the old wall sconces in my hallway and I’m trying to figure out how to attach the ground wire when I put my new ones on the wall. My house was built in 1971 and the brass sconces I just removed have probably been on this wall ever since. My new fixtures are metal.

These are the two junction boxes. I can’t really tell whether there are any ground wires in one of them, the other one looks like it has copper stuff going on, but nothing but the black wire and white wire was attached to the sconces I removed. Do I just try to un-twist whatever looks like copper wires in both of these and attach my ground wire to those and twist them back up again? If not, what do I do with my new fixture’s ground wire?
