Hi, gusto ko lang mag-vent.

Nag-resign ako sa first job ko kasi I felt exploited and overwhelmed. Ngayon nahihirapan ako maghanap ulit ang baba ng apprenticeship offers, and hindi enough for bills, lalo na ngayon na walang work dad ko.

Iniisip ko kung mag-work outside the industry muna para makapag-provide, pero baka ma-delay naman yung apprenticeship ko. Medyo pressured din kasi yung batchmates ko tuloy-tuloy, while ako nagre-restart.

Ang hirap lang mamili between financial stability and career path. Pero thankful pa rin ako na natapos ko yung course ko. Kanya-kanyang timing lang talaga siguro.

Any advice or encouragement would really help. 🙏

I’m 29F, and I’m dating a 28M architect who manages his own firm. He currently has 4 projects/clients, and it will soon become 6, with only 1 intern architect helping him.

He’s busy all the time and can only reply to my messages during his free time, probably only three times a week, I guess.

Is this normal in your profession? I'm interested to get to know him but I want emotional connection, however, I don't wanna sound needy.

What other paths are there in architecture po aside sa design-build or construction? Just trying to broaden my choices.

Ang alam ko lang po na other paths/niche/specialization ay QA/QC works, QS works, project management, sales estimation—ano pa pong meron?

I’m a fresh architecture graduate in the Philippines and I’ve been working in a construction company for about 9 months now. Honestly I’ve been feeling conflicted lately about where my career is heading.

One of the main reasons I accepted this job was because they said we’d be using Revit and BIM workflows for projects. I was genuinely excited because I know how important BIM experience is now, especially if you want better opportunities later on.

But until now, almost everything is still done in AutoCAD. We barely touch Revit at all.

I know AutoCAD is still important, but I can’t help feeling anxious that I’m falling behind compared to other junior architects/designers who are already getting real BIM experience in their first jobs. Sometimes I feel like every month that passes is another month I’m not developing the skills I actually need for the future.

The hard part is I don’t know if I’m overthinking this or if my concern is actually valid. This is my first full-time job, so part of me thinks maybe this is just how the industry works in some firms. Another part of me feels like I might be wasting valuable early-career years staying in a company that isn’t helping me grow in the direction I want.

I also work pretty long hours (7am–6pm, 6 days a week) so trying to self-study Revit after work has been difficult because I’m usually exhausted when I get home.

Would really appreciate hearing from people who went through something similar because lately I’ve been feeling pretty stuck career-wise.

Hello! I just wanted to ask regarding the attire or dress code. Are polo shirts with a pocket allowed? I’m planning to wear one since that’s the only polo shirt I currently have, and I wanted to make sure it complies with the guidelines before buying a new one or using it. Hi po, I just want to ask kung pwede po ba yung government funded na facility ay nakatayo sa isang private lot? Regarding about my thesis po kasi is about Children's Residential Care Facility. Any tips po kung paano ko sya dedefend? If not allowed naman po yung ganun. Ano pong best na dapat gawin?

Hello po! Need an advice, do you think veterinary hospital is a good topic for Architectural thesis? Or should I not consider that as my topic po?

Arkis any advice po. We are first year arkistudents tapos sobrang lala nilang magcram. Ako ang naiinis kapag nagchachat sila sa gc namin asking patingin ng gawa or kung ano na natapos nyo ganyan dead is ma daw sa mga plates mamaya na lang ganon. Or kaya may binigay si Ar. Prof na gagawin with kulang na instructions or may something na unfamiliar sa amin, chat-chat sila sa gc ng cof namin about doon ganyan di daw kuno gets.

I mean okay, may pagkukulang si Prof don, but we are all striving. We are all trying to survive. College na sila at hindi para maging burden sa cof mo. Madaming plates and deadlines yes, but that doesn't mean na magsslack-off ka na at lahat ay kailangan ipaliwanag sayo ng kaibigan mo.

Gusto ko na sila i-cut-off minsan pero iba pa rin ang may cof sa arki. Pero grabe, nakakapagod minsan. Parang nagiging spoon-fed sila.

I admit na minsan ganon din ako, pero as much as I can, sinesearch ko yung info na need ko malaman kasi ayoko mang-abala kasi I know lahat kami may deadlines na tinatapos especially now that midterms and deptals era.
