Hi all,

I recently purchased an Akai MPC Key 37, previously I owned the MPK Mini IV and had no issues connecting it to my PC. But for some reason I cannot figure out how to connect the Key 37 to Melodics. I have a year subscription from when I had the Mini and I don't see why the Key 37 wouldn't be able to connect as it came with a 2 month trial to Melodics. I am fairly new to all of this. But I am a fairly fast learner and I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for through online searching. Could someone who knows what they're doing give me a step by step on how to connect it?

I’m trying to build a portable live rig thats as compact ss possible and I thought of the MPC Live platform.

I’d love some advice from people with experience.

My workflow is NOT loop-based, I’m playing full songs linearly and I just need a reliable way to run everything live without a laptop.

What I need:

Play full backing tracks (linear timeline, full songs)

Have a click track only in my monitor (not sent to FOH)

Handle tempo changes per song, if this is not possible, a click track would do the work.

Play guitar live, through a floor modeller, to be connected to the MPC Live input for monitoring. how's the latency in this case?

Play some synth parts via MIDI keyboard loading an instrument on one of the tracks.

Trigger occasional one-shots

Have at least 2 separate stereo outputs:

FOH (backing tracks, synths)

My monitor (with click)

from what I can see even the MPC Live mk. I would suffice.

In my current setup I run the laptop + usb Interface + synth + guitar modeler + elgato stream deck to navigate setlist.

I'd like to simplify it.

Most of the content you see online is for the loop based clip launching approach.

Freezing issue

I ❤️ my MPC Sample! But I've had an issue like 3 times so far where when I've been working awhile it freezes up. The battery wasn't showing as needing to charge or anything. Luckily, I haven't lost anything so far. However, it just happened again and now I can't even cycle it off. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks!
