What do we think? It’s finally gotten to the point that you can see the Aframe take shape.
Modern A-frame cabin in the woods
Tucked among tall pines, this modern A-frame style cabin mixes sharp architecture with cozy cabin vibes. Huge windows bring the forest right inside, and the warm lighting at night makes the whole place feel pretty unreal.
Outside there’s a firepit surrounded by log-style seating, plus a deck that looks perfect for slow mornings or late-night hangs.
Honestly feels like the kind of place where you say you’ll just sit by the fire for a bit… then suddenly it’s midnight.
Firepit night or morning coffee on the deck?
Walkout basement window layout for aframe
Which of these options (organized in vertical columns) do you like best aesthetically for the basement window layout of my aframet? Our Sketchup renderings are on the bottom and I added semi-realistic AI renderings above.
I want the main level/actual aframe portion to be the focal point and want to minimize the basement as much as possible in comparison (will use landscaping to help with that) but it also will be a living space/entertaining area and would be nice to have a decent amount of glass. Started with a big centered 3-panel slider but it felt too much like an extension of the curtain wall instead of separate and lower priority.
(new account so as to not dox my reddit once this house is built, lol)
Functional or decorative?
Hello fellow a-frame lovers. We so excited to have recently purchased an a-frame home. We are wanting to do some cosmetic facade upgrades and am wondering, does the lattice and post installed at the apex serve a functional purpose? I’d like to simplify by removing it, but I’m not sure if it’s serving a purpose. Please let me know your thoughts - thank you kindly.
