Atypical ductal epithelial lining

hi i’m 21F and got my biopsy report that said

Segments of breast tissue with dilated ducts containing mucin with ATYPICAL DUCTAL EPITHELIAL LINING and focal possible stromal mucin extravasation. Also noted are detached ATYPICAL DUCTAL EPITHELIAL CELLS ADMIXED WITH MUCIN. These results indicate a HIGH RISK lesion an are concordant with the imaging finding. In view of these findings a surgical consultation and SURGICAL EXCISION is recommended. Can someone explain this? Does this turn into cancer or do I have but biopsy did not get the part that was cancer?

Hi everyone,

I’m really glad you’re here, though I wish none of us had to be.

I’m 27 and currently navigating metastatic breast cancer, and I created this space because I felt there wasn’t enough support specifically for younger people going through this. It can feel very isolating at times, especially when most conversations don’t reflect what we’re experiencing at this stage of life.

This community is meant to be a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space for:

  • Those newly diagnosed
  • Those in treatment
  • Survivors
  • Anyone trying to make sense of it all

You can share anything here - your fears, small wins, questions, frustrations, or even just how your day is going. Sometimes, just knowing someone understands makes a difference.

💗 A few gentle reminders:

  • Be kind and respectful to each other
  • Everyone’s journey is different
  • No question is too small
  • You don’t have to go through this alone

If you feel comfortable, you can introduce yourself:

  • Your age (optional)
  • Where are you in your journey
  • Anything you’d like to share

Or just read and take your time - both are completely okay.

We’re all in this together.
Stronger together 🎀

What was your reaction when you first heard “you have breast cancer”?

I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at 27 in Nov last year and honestly still trying to process everything. Some days it feels real, other days it doesn’t at all.

I wanted to ask- what was your reaction when you first heard your diagnosis? How long did it take for it to actually sink in or feel “real” to you? Did you ever reach a point of acceptance, or is it something that still comes in waves?

I’ve also been struggling with feeling really alone and emotionally abandoned at times, even when people are around me. Did anyone else feel that way too? How did you cope with it?

Would really appreciate hearing your experiences. 🤍❤️

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately…

What has been the hardest part of your journey so far?

  • Hearing the diagnosis at a young age
  • Starting treatment
  • The side effects (physical or mental)
  • Fear of recurrence
  • Adjusting to life after treatment
  • Or something else entirely

For me, I feel like each phase brings its own challenges in different ways.

If you feel comfortable sharing, I’d really love to hear your experience. Sometimes putting it into words or reading someone else’s can make it feel a little less heavy.

Sending love to everyone here 💗🫂

Hi, just wanted to let u all know English Isnt My first language. I recently became a mother, my son is 2yo. And after breastfeeding i noticed an AWFUL pain on My left breast. At first I thought it was a swollen node but then, I went to see a gyne, which told me it seems a swollen lymph node. He scheduled me for a breast Ultrasound on April 2025.

Pain was AWFUL and on an specific zone/area Only in My left breast, anyways. Got the us done and the radiologyst says it looks like a swollen lymph node and that I might have been caused if i have shaved My armpits (bacteria entering My body thru micro cuts) so I go home with a BIRADS 1, Which Made me 'relax' a bit but pain was still there. Throughout The 2025 it became 'a daily basis pain' that would get worse during ovulation or during my period. Long story short, pain is still there, but less than last year, i have gone thru My annual checkup in April 2026 and just got a BIRADS 1 again, radiologyst said this time there's a mammary duct swollen where I feel pain and it might be hormonal and might dissapear anytime. I am not longer able to feel the node that started everything but... I sometimes doubt About My own sanity, I am not sure if this okay or not. I just came here to share w/ You cuz sometimes I feel Lost About this.

Thanks for reading My long ass post.
