How do you all tackle comps ?

In my opinion, I feel like there are two ways you can handle comps for an unreleased album.

  1. Era Specific: Only using songs from that era.

  2. Soundscape: Using songs from different eras but still fits the theme of a project.

Most times I feel like people do the first option. I like the second option for some projects. Example is a version of Good Ass Job I made with songs on it like Building, Awesome etc. different eras but Awesome can definitely be on Good Ass Job, specifically with the “You don’t have to listen to your manager” line. What y’all think?
