I am very happy with this Yamaha classical guitar I purchased for a quite reasonable price. The guy at the shop told me it was made in Japan "probably" in the 60's, but I'm not sure he was right. While the paper label clearly says "Made in Japan", the research I've done on the serial number (30224269, stamped on a strut just inside the sound hole - sorry the photo is not very clear), suggests a factory in Taiwan, and either 73 or 83 as the year of manufacture. I presume they wouldn't just lie on their label though, right? The guitar had quite a bit of restoration done, but for this price point I don't think it'd be worth completely rebuilding a guitar from parts.
I'm mostly just curious - the guitar sounds great and was a good price - but I'd love to know what the story is. I appreciate any help!
