My heavily upgraded lefty Pacifica 112

Hey everyone! Just wanted to show off my Pacifica 112 after my last round of modifications. I think it's in it's final form now, I honestly can't think of any other changes I would want to make to it! This is my project guitar that I've used to learn how to work on a guitar and it's been a lot of fun working on it (and even more fun playing on it!). Here's all the changes I've made to it so far:

Seymour Duncan P-rail with triple shot pickup selector ring

Fleor Alnico V dual rail middle pickup

Fleor Alnico V neck pickup

Guyker bridge with roller saddles

Grover locking tuners

Upgraded Pots with push pull to create "7 sounds" mod

Upgraded selector switch

Switch craft input jack

Copper foil pickup cavity

This first has so many sound options with all the pickup variations I have now that it's honestly overwhelming. I was considering putting together a sound bite with all the different options but I realized it's 19 different pickup combinations and figured y'all don't want to sit through that lol. Let me know what you guys think.

What mods should i make? (cosmetic only)

I've a pac012 and i really wanna change the pickguard and the hardware too maybe

I really like the look of a gold hardware (not yet sure) but im so confused about the pickguard colour like should i get a red/brown tortoiseshell, a plain black or a pearloid?

I wanna match the hardware to the pickguard btw not thr other way around xD

What is the better one out of these two?

I have the option to get either one of these and I'm wondering what one is better in terms of quality. (I'm sorry if buying help questions are banned here, I didn't know what sub to ask in as r/Guitar banned these type of questions...)

Model Names:
1st slide: Yamaha RGX121Z
2nd slide: Yamaha Pacifica PAC012

New (to me) 1967 SG-5

Received it yesterday in shockingly excellent condition given it’s 59 years old. It even came with the original strap!

Plays and feels great, the neck pickups sounds KILLER. Whammy bar works and it stays in tune! This may replace my Strat….pure single coil sound with vintage Fender radius but Gibson scale length - love it.

If anybody knows about the electronics on these, I have some questions about the pickups, etc:

1 (neck) is very loud, with over 10k resistance

2 (middle) is quite a bit quieter, but mid 9k resistance

3 (bridge) is almost as loud as 1, but also mid 9k

1+2 is just under 5k. Relatively quiet

1 + 3 also just under 5k. Relatively loud

2+3 blended reads nothing in the middle of the sweep (!), tone described below.

1 + 2/3 blended is high 9k.

The sound of 2 by itself is low output, and kind of Strat-quacky. Funny given it reads the same as pickup 3, which is much louder.

When blended with 3, it's similarly quiet, but cancels hum, and sounds like a tone knob has been turned down - much more bass, less treble.

Any ideas what could be going on?

Headstock sticker

Quick question, do people normally remove this sticker on the headstock or does it have value?

Changed all the chrome hardware to gold, except the input jack plate and neck plate which I couldn't find the correct replacement sizes of. All new hardware were ordered from Amazon.

The tremolo bridge was a drop-in replacement, after carefully measuring the stock one and finding the one with correct matching dimensions. For the locking tuners I had to drill on the headstock in order to fit the 2 little 'legs'/'pins' (don't know what they're called) at the back of the tuners.

All the screws were also replaced, for the pickguard, selector switch, and pickup mounting ring. I put a gold cover for the humbucker pickup, also replaced the string tree/retainer at the headstock.

Although the different parts did not share the same exact shade of gold color, I am still happy with the resulting aesthetics. There's something very pleasing about gold hardware on natural wood finish, IMHO.

EDIT: For reference, I am listing the brands of the different parts, alI purchased from Amazon.

Musiclily - Tremolo bridge, locking tuners, strap buttons, string tree, pickguard screws, mounting screw for the single coil pickup rings

Alnicov - Humbucker cover

Vintage Forge - Volume and tone knobs

eMagTech - Screws for the selector switch

Bought new a couple weeks ago. Getting back to learning after almost 20 yr break. No amp just headphones + tonelib gfx. I'm satisfied with this guitar

Which one is your favorite?

Black Cherry
Blue Fabric
Cool Tropical
Leopard Print

These aren't mine, just sharing because I think they're awesome.

A guy in my local area posted these to FB Marketplace tonight for $220 each, he likes finding Pacifica 012's and 112's in pawnshops and then modding/upgrading them, and doing his own body finishes. It's his retirement hobby. Wish I was this artistically skilled

New guitar, who dis Amp?

Hi, I'm fairly new to guitar playing (~6months). I just bought a Pacifica Standard Plus and a Valeton GP-200. I'm using my AKG K702 for output but realised that I will need an Amp + speaker system rather sooner than later.

I would appreciate any suggestions as I have absolutely zero clues on what to get for proper sound.

I mostly practice fingerpicking songs like 'Nothing Else Matters' or some Bach stuff to get my finger coordination up.

Thx!

Questions about upgrading a Pacifica 112v

Hey so I’ve had this guitar for about a year and I love it especially the neck but I want better tuning stability and out of it and maybe make the tremolo system more usable

Was thinking about replacing the nut for tuning stability (graph tusq nut?) any other ideas for improving there

And also I’ve been thinking about replacing the block on it since the tremolo arm isn’t like consistent it’s kinda loose and not fun to use I think as a result of the screw in arm. What block should I look at buying

Anyways those are the problems I wanna fix and my current plans for how to fix, lemme know if there’s better ideas out there and any tips for someone new to modding their guitar thanks!

been really interested in the Pacificas the last couple months but I was just wondering, how is the split coil on it?

does it sound like an actual single coil or is it just a weak coil split?

I need to change my stock humbucker on my Pacifica with a Seymour Duncan TB-14. But I need some help for the wiring. Originally, the humbucker on this Pacifica has 3 wires, and the current wiring is too difficult for me bcs I’m really bad in wiring. Unfortunatly, the exact original wiring diagram on the Pacifica 112VM is just unfindable. This is why I made the original wiring diagram by my hand. But, I need help to know how to replace my current humbucker with the seymour duncan TB-14 which has 4 cables instead of 3. I add a diagram from the seymour duncan for the colors of each cables. If someone can tell me where I need to connect each cables to have my tb14 with a push/pull that would be really helpful.

Hi everyone, my question is specifically for those living in Europe. How easy is it to find a brand-new in box Yamaha Pacifica 112VM from an official distributor in your country or region? I would appreciate it if you could mention your location in your reply. Thanks in advance!"
