Trying out different designs and layout on 20 ox skinny tumbler.
I purchased a replacement 10W module for my S1… but just wanted to make a PSA they are not identical in nature. You cannot use the exact same settings as results will differ.
I had dialed in all my settings for my 10W module, and due to the production level of my side business I wanted to get another one to have for when I need to do maintenance I could continue lasering.
Well the new 10W doesn’t mimic what my old one does. They were bought 1 month apart.
I’ll have to redo all my testing on each different colour to dial in the settings for that module.
Edit: I’m using xTool studio from the xTool website, I got mixed up after watching so many videos and thought XCS was the name of the new one.
I just got an S1 40w and the screen printing bundle.
I'm attempting to engrave my first screen, I have installed the screen jig and placed my screen inside the S1. I noticed that my working space is lined up with the dark canvas, but my screen and the safe working space of the screen runs up and out of my canvas. Every video I watched their safe working space was inside their canvas. Did I set something up wrong? My main concern is that now my prints will not be centered on the screen.
I have access to both a 40w and a 2w module and I'd like to etch a powder coated aluminum guitar pedal enclosure. Can anyone advise which module I should use and some settings to consider?
Hey, all. I tried to cut some 5mm ply with my xtool S1 10w. I did 4 passes at 100%, 5mms, and it wouldn't finally the way. I did pick it up to see ot it went through, so it did throw off the last pass. I'm also gonna clean the laser to see of that helps. Has anyone had success cutting 5mm with their 10w?
Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong here? I set up an engrave and a cut test array for my black acrylic. It’s cast acrylic that measures around 2.55mm thick.
Used TapeManBlue paper transfer tape, but in some cases, it looks like it didn’t even cut through the paper. Air assist was on auto.
After some advice to find a good starting point for test material.
I have S1 with 40w diode laser.
I want to "etch" some stencils to use with a nail art stamp. Doesn't need to be deep just deep enough to hold paint. Making warhammer decal stamps.
We did some engraving with what we thought was stainless with average results, unless we used powder coated.
What would be a suitable metal to engrave or do a couple low power cutting passes to get a suitable depth with?
Brass, aluminium etc?
