What happened to gold?

Gold has recorded one of its worst monthly performances in decades:

▪️ Down 11.6% in March 2026 ▪️ Largest decline since October 2008 (-16.9%) ▪️ Just the 4th negative month in the last 26

Yet, the broader outlook remains intact.

Walk-Forward Optimized XAUUSD Strategy (Real Tick Data) - PF 1.81 – Live Performance & Diversification Question

I've recently started running this system live on gold (XAUUSD) and I'd like to get some opinions from other traders.

The system was developed using a walk-forward optimization over the period 2020–2024, with all data outside that range kept strictly as out-of-sample. Backtests were performed using real tick data.

So far it's behaving roughly in line with expectations. However, I'm fully aware that live trading can expose issues that don't appear in backtests.

One thing I've noticed is that from 2022 to 2024 the strategy produced no net profit, and in 2025 it suffered a fairly significant drawdown. I think it may lack sufficient diversification to better handle these kinds of periods.

Do you see anything that raises doubts for you, or that you would analyze more deeply?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

BTC D1 Analysis — No confirmed bottom, continuation likely

From a D1 perspective, BTC does not show a confirmed bottom yet.

Market structure remains bearish:

  • Price is trading below the higher timeframe MA
  • Clear sequence of lower highs and lower lows
  • RSI remains below 50, indicating weak momentum
  • MACD shows fading bullish momentum and potential rollover

The current price action appears to be range consolidation following a strong impulse down, which statistically favors continuation.

This range may be acting as a distribution phase, building liquidity before a potential move lower.

Key level to watch:
~64k — loss of this level likely opens downside.

Downside targets:

  • 60k (intermediate support / liquidity zone)
  • 58k (stronger demand / liquidity cluster)

A shift in bias would require a break and hold above 71k–73k, followed by formation of higher highs and higher lows.

Until then, the market structure favors downside continuation.

Trading mentors

Hi, everyone,

I’m fairly new to trading. Been profitable but also blown accounts…same old story.

I’ve watched countless YouTube videos, read loads, received signals from Telegram channels and even considered splashing out on courses.

However, I know how my mind works. I much prefer a coach or a mentor. Someone I can buzz off 1-2-1, face to face.

Do these people exist? Are there any recommendations. I’m based in UK but happy to take international ideas.

Thanks

TL
