An older review of The Last Philosopher on royalroad. Since I try to write what I call "Attempted Comedy" it's always nice when someone finds it "Haha"

AI is getting all the credit like it or not

I thought I had talent, I guess not.

I never would have imagined AI would get credit for my writing. So I guess AI took my job.

This kind of thing happened to me before, about 20 years ago when I was trying to be romantic and wrote a poem for a lady and she accused me of getting it off the internet somewhere, I was flabbergasted. I stopped writing poetry for other people after that.

ADHD and writing

Hey guys, I wanted to reach out in a forum with other writers for a some general advice.

As the title says, I have adhd. I used to write, draw, and paint quite often. Poems, short stories, I had 3 books I had started (at a young age), I even had illustrations for some of my writings. Once upon a time I wanted to put my work into books, and had a lot of people asking me to. But back then, again I was young, and didn't have funds to attempt it (had all the time in the world back then though lol). Years got past me, and I haven't written in a long while.

I'm 31, work 40+ hours a week, the world is exploding, and I realized I've lost my creativity with time and adulthood. I got the inkling to draw and write again, and didn't want to let it go. I also didn't want to go back to any old work I've done since it all seems personal to me now.

The current goal is to start and finish a book, and get it published. It's a bucket list thing at this point.

I pumped out story ideas until I quickly landed on one I fell in love with, I already have so much to put on paper and I've gotten about a rough chapter in. Anytime I get an idea while I'm out I jot it down. I've been doing a lot of research on some background information.

However, now it's like once I'm sitting down ready to actually write I hit a wall. I know where the story is going, but I keep catching myself going back and making tweaks or edits. Suddenly I'm looking at my phone, or need to do xyz to be ready to write.

One way I'm trying to combat this, is to write out the rough idea of the next scene/part as in: example (she enters the room, unsure what she's looking for. room description. things happening in room.) etc etc. but with as much detail as I can get out of my head and onto paper.

So when I come back to it with a clear head I can write it out fully. But I'd be lying if I said my adhd wasn't kicking my butt right now.

Any advice to keep myself on track? Thank you in advance!
