My name is Tina Iordamlis, and I am proud to say I was born and raised in Weehawken, NJ. I was even born in a hospital that no longer exists — so you truly can’t get more original Weehawken than that.
I graduated from Fordham University with degrees in Finance and International Finance. I spent over 30 years working on Wall Street in risk management, private equity, bonds, and mortgages. Later, I worked for the municipality of Montclair as the Finance Manager for the Parking Authority, where I helped run parking operations for 10 years.
Today, I am also a proud small business owner. I own Bagels On Park right here in the 2nd Ward.
I have always tried to support my community in every way I can. I proudly donate to local organizations, churches, and shelters throughout Weehawken and surrounding areas because giving back matters to me.
I’m sharing this because recently I heard there have been rumors spread that my ONLY experience is owning a business on Park Avenue. Which in fact, does set me apart, and is something I’m incredibly proud of, especially as we opened right before COVID hit. But I am also a candidate with business and municipal experience as well.
I’d like to believe these rumors are not malicious, and are being said because these are people who do not truly know me. However I believe it is smarter — and kinder — to ask questions before speaking and have honest conversations.
What I do promise you is this:
If you vote for me, you will have a voice. You will have a compassionate resident who works for the people — first. Public service is not glamorous and is supposed to serve the public.
I raised my family here, and I would not have wanted to do that anywhere else.
Let’s play fair, have open conversations, and thank you for all the support so far.

“Your Neighbor, Your Voice”
Hi all - just moved to Weehawken last November. Trying to find info on the upcoming municipal election on May 12.
I talked to an llm and it said the election was essentially uncontested. Is that so? Is it worth voting at all? If so, will there be a town hall or debate or any such thing before the election? Is there another resource for getting informed about the election? As far as I can tell there aren't any ballot measures so it'd just be voting for candidates or writing in, I guess. I keep seeing yard signs though so I wonder why candidates would spend money campaigning at all if it's uncontested.
Any help would be great, thank you!
I saw this at like 1:15am.
That old tan brick house with orange doors that overlooks the big intersection had a huge police presence outside. There were multiple police cars with lights on (but no sirens/no noise), and they had an extremely bright spotlight aimed at a second story window. I saw an officer aiming a long rifle toward the window, then lowering it again a few seconds later. I thought I might’ve seen a hand sticking out of the window but not sure.
The whole thing was very eerie. Maybe this is nosy but I can’t help asking. Does anyone know what happened?
Any homeowners in Weehawken here that have experience increasing their rent as part of the rent decontrolling process? Can you share your experience and how long it took for you to get approval?
I submitted the rent increase request in January and was told by the rent department head that it won’t be processed until April when the Rent Leveling Board meets.
It’s now May, and I am not sure if the Board even discussed my rent increase request or saw it. The town’s rent department refuses to provide more information and constantly tells me, “We will let you know once we have more information.” One of my leases is up for renewal, and it’s very frustrating to follow up and not get a response or even know what the status is.
