Should I keep the sword or change it out? Obviously gives magical vibes but I have a lot of spare chaos weapons I could use that may look better. Or any other suggestions? Still got a little greentuff/covering to do in other parts.
Mostly 3d prints but a couple of genuine antiques in the general and wizard. Taking them to my first Old World event next weekend so that should be fun.
I spent a week printing the army without much research.
Will probably have 6 months of painting now.
I have:
- a manticore,
- 6 chaos knights,
- around 30 models that will serve as marauders,
- around 30 that can be either chaos warriors or chosen,
- two that can be characters and one mage,
- 3 dragon ogres (more like deathclaws),
- 6 chaos trolls,
- 12 war hounds.
What would you add to this for bare minimum of fun lists?
Last night, as part of a league I played a 1250 pt game against the most obnoxious renegade crowns list. It was basically:
A giant brick of veteran sellswords with phalanx, stubborn, and the no stomps banner joined by a general, a bsb with a banner that doubled his rank bonus, and a wizard with lore familiar (so he'll always have earthen ramparts) and 2 power scrolls.
A unit of skirmishers with various pistols and blunderbuss joined by a wizard double casting the summoning and popping steed if shadows whenever I tried to corner them

The big brick had like 10 combat resolution, constant earthen ramparts neutering my damage output, and I couldn't disrupt them with first charge or flanking. All the while I was being slowly whittled down by missile units I couldn't catch.
The whole game was an unfun slog and I have no idea how a melee army like WoC is supposed to deal with that.

Hi all! Today we launch the "Call to Arms" for a global summer campaign! (TOW players are welcome!)
This project is a tribute to the original 1997 campaign written by Jervis Johnson. We have restored and polished the semi-official 6th Edition rules for Amazons, alongside a system for Stolen Relics that lets any army use Lizardmen artifacts.
For this campaign, every army is categorized into one of two fronts for the purpose of the global scoreboard:
In our case, we have been hired for recovering these artifacts... which means nothing, of course! We will carry our vengeance to the living, ally or foe! Meanwhile, a combined force of Unholy magic and the Childs of the Old Ones can be an interesting army!
Note: Internal conflicts (Attacker vs. Attacker or Defender vs. Defender) are valid and critical for the scoreboard.
Winning the summer phase is only the beginning of the nightmare.

Finished up these Chaos Chosen and their Chosen Knight counter parts! Very happy how they came out.
So, i went to gw's site with the intent of buying some classic chaos chosen for my army and... They're gone, along with the lord on daemonic mount, hellcanon, etc... Basically, all metal models.
Did gw said something about discontinuing them? Does this mean new models?

I’ve been thinking about getting into The Old World for a while now, and I was hesitating between Empire, Chaos, and Vampire Counts. But the rumors about a revamp and a possible v2 had convinced me to wait.
Today I stopped by my local store and saw they still had the Warriors of Chaos Battalion in stock, as well as the Slaves to Darkness Spearhead (with the warriors, knights, and chariot). I thought both of these boxes were sold out everywhere.
Do you think this is a good opportunity to jump in? If so, which box would you recommend? Would it make sense to grab both (for example by using the AoS models as Chosen)?
I already own some Chaos Spawns and a winged Daemon Prince from my 40k army, if that helps.

Hi all! So i recently got a box with 20 of the new marauders and these are the (marauders) i got so i was just wondering how i should build them. It says on the box i can either do handweapons and shields, great weapons, or flails and shields and i just wanted to hear what you guys think is best! btw it can either be 1 unit of 20 with full command or 2 units of 10 with full command if you were wondering.
