ETune Advice (Dmann or M-Tuned)

I have a 2021 wrx premium that I daily to and from work/gym. Currently has 75k miles. Maintenance is good, I’ve done front and rear differential fuild, oil and oil filter change every 2.5 - 3k, Transmission fluid is changed. I’m getting the spark plugs done next week. The car drives amazing. It’s fun and feels fast but still has stock tune fall on the face.

I plan on installing a GrimmSpeed Stealthbox Intake which requires a tune… I’ve done research, and i’m between the Dmann STG1 Flash&Go "OTS" Map or the 2015+ WRX, XT, STI. EJ25 and FA20 Tuning Stage 1 by MTune.

While I understand the that’s more customized to your car will always be better, I didn’t want to put the extra money in until I was going bigger parts like intercooler, boost controller, etc but Im still keeping the car reliable, just fun:)

I’ve seen people say a lot of good things about dmann overall and his OTS tune. For $150 I think that’s a steal especially since the cobb OTS aren’t good.

Please help!

Not excited to join the hoards of pictures of WRXs on flatbeds. Clutch was getting stuck in the down position, but I could pop it back up… this happened very rarely. And then this past week, it became daily, but always at the exact same intersection. I thought it was mechanical since the clutch popped back and everything was a ok… so I put some lithium grease on the spring and the pin going through the firewall.. squeak stopped. I pressed the clutch a bunch of times with the car off to work the grease into the spring. And then…. It just popped down, and when I pulled it, popped back up with no hydraulic pressure behind it… and then, the drip under the car (slave cylinder busted methinks). Anyways - here we are. Let’s see how much and how long :(

What should I do next?

I wish I could do everything I want to this car but unfortunately I’m not made of money and I gotta do a little at a time.
Torn between upgrading to STI headlights, getting a nice front splitter, or doing something about the base model fog light bezels. Going for a nice simple OEM+ look. Open to ideas…

Finally joined the club last night.

2015 premium 59k and absolutely immaculate. Even came with the valet key. Service history was solid. Whoever owned this car took extremely good care of it. Paid little over $20k.

Had it for about to 2 months, 2015, 125k, very well maintained luckily but I know I could be in for some issues with these miles. Been starting to work on some paint repair. Other things I want to do for sure exterior-wise are new rims (thinking bronze or gunmetal enkai), new emblems (color undecided) and something to replace the grimspeed license delete.

As far as performance I think I’m gonna leave it alone, entirely stock under the hood right now, just has the straight pipe and big ol fart cannon which I honestly don’t hate, as I’m still in my 20s and don’t mind being that obnoxious yet. Only mods I’m considering is comfort things like pitch stop, tranny mounts, maybe fresh motor mounts as well. Shift stop too probably.

Was about to start looking into getting the walnut blast, also kinda wanna raise it up a couple inches for comfort. any other things I should look out for too? Timing chain serviced at 100k, regular oil changes, etc…

Hey I’ve gotten an aftermarket spoiler put on my 2014 wrx (already painted) it was installed today at a local panel and paint shop.

It was one that was brought of a nz company but they drop shipped from china by the looks.

It had minor cracks in some of the paint. Not the best quality on close inspection. Installer suggested installing anyways and see how it looks. Afterwards I can always get the paint redone.

Since install cracks are worse and now the plastic is cracked. I only drove it home. I wonder if they installed it too tight or something.

I feel my option now is only to get it removed but unfortunately it’s going to be a very expensive job as will have the get the boot fixed up from the drilling and repaint. I’m so sad. My pride and joy.

Any suggestions or advice please?
The supplier of the spoiler has given me a refund. Any advice around the panel shop that did the install or where I can go from here? I wish they had suggested not installing it as I queried if it was good enough…

Thanks

Got pre qualified for this today. They’re shipping it to my local Carmax. It’s a 2015 with 59k on it. Looks clean from pics. From the engine pics it appears totally stock. The intake tube and all other components look the same level of dirty as the rest of the engine. It all appears uniform.

UPDATE FROM MY LAST POST

PLEASE READ DESC.

Hello every one thanks for all the help on my last recent post (https://www.reddit.com/r/WRX/s/Hm8dbHC3Pa). I decided to unmarry the accessport my only concern is that ever since the issues occurred my engine/ car/ drives have all sounded fine, felt fine, looked fine it was primarily the numbers that were my “Issue” so now without the accessport is blind to DAM, FBK, FKL and all other gauges so how can i go about maintaining my car healthy and back up again? How do i check/know?

Also me and my brother who has an 06 sti took it for a little drive and he said he noticed/ heard some misfiring happening so i recorded a clip of my exhaust to let you guys hear and tell me what you guys think. He says it’s probably my coil packs or something with my spark plugs and all that stuff but let me know! (Keep in mind i have a axle back muffler delete and this is a warm idle)

Also apologies for not saying sooner i drive a 2021 VA WRX base FA20 2.0L MT, bone stock besides an axle back muffler delete.

Thoughts? shoukd i keep driving it? i have a diagnostic appointment Monday at a subaru dealership hopefully they can put my mind at ease also if you guys have any suggestions on what i should tell the dealer to check specifically (will already be telling them to check my coil packs and spark plugs)

Just like the title says. Wondering about running 93 on a stock car without much tech no tune. Beneficial or 91 is perfectly fine. Sorry if this sounds stupid. New the platform.
