This program is unfair

I think that it is completely unfair that this program offers Calc 1 - 3, both Discrete Maths, Linear Algebra, and other math classes. This is what the CS program should have had. AI Engineering is so specific, why is it more rigorous than the CS degree? That makes absolutely no sense. Absolutely ABSURD. Those classes are basically standard CS classes, and they decide to not simply add them to the CS program like what?! You have them made why can’t we have them.

Welcome to r/WGU_AIEngineering

Welcome to r/WGU_AIEngineering, a community for current students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, and professionals interested in the Bachelor of Science in AI Engineering at Western Governors University.

WGU recently launched the official B.S. AI Engineering program page, which is now a great starting point for learning more about the program, admissions requirements, curriculum, and career outcomes:

Official program page:
https://www.wgu.edu/online-it-degrees/ai-engineering.html

This community exists to support open, student-driven discussion around topics such as:

  • Admissions and program readiness
  • Math and programming preparation
  • Course experiences and study strategies
  • Machine learning, software engineering, and MLOps
  • Certifications, projects, and portfolios
  • Career pathways in AI engineering

Getting started

If you're new here, feel free to introduce yourself and share:

  • Your current background (student, career changer, working professional, etc.)
  • What interests you about AI Engineering
  • Whether you're comparing BSAIE with BSCS, BSSWE, Data Analytics, or other programs
  • What technical or career goals you're working toward

Before posting

The official program page above answers many common questions around:

  • Admissions requirements
  • Math and programming readiness
  • Transfer credits
  • Curriculum and career outcomes

If your question isn’t answered there, chances are someone in the community has gone through something similar and can help.

Looking forward to building a strong AI engineering community together!

Will Sophia.org credits transfer to the new AI Engineering bachelor's degree?

When I look at the Transfer Pathways for Sophia.org on the WGU website, the AI Engineering degree is not listed but all of the other IT degrees are. Possibly because the program is so new and is starting July 1st? I would hate to spend the time and money on courses that won't transfer over.
